The OPPO N3 is the latest flagship from OPPO and like its N1 predecessor, it has a swivel camera. But new for this year is the addition of a motor to the swivel which makes for some really interesting abilities!
After unboxing the OPPO N3 last time, a number of people grew curious about its motorized camera. This video is dedicated to talk about this unique feature on the N3.
The OPPO N3 comes with a 16MP standalone camera built with good quality Schneider Optics lens. These two features make the camera on the device one of the best in the Android industry.
While the camera doesn’t have Optical Image Stabilization, autofocus, or Ultra High Resolution video recording, it comes with a good sensor and optics. The device tops at 1080p/60fps. An added advantage of the N3 is that it comes with a larger 1/2.3 sensor behind larger megapixels, which enables more light to come in for composing a good shot.
There are also few enhancements on software and ColorOS 2.0, including full manual control of the camera functions such as focus, ISO, white balance, and exposure. This brings the OPPO N3 right in line of controls found on other phones like the Nokia Lumia 1020.
The excitement on the new OPPO N3, however, surrounds on its new swivel camera. Unlike the OPPO N1’s manual rotating camera, the N3 model takes a step further by adding full motor movement for allowing certain things.
One such advantage you can get with this new inclusion is the ability to take automatic panorama shots. For individuals with less steady hands, taking such photos can prove to be quite difficult. With the N3, you simply need to press the shutter button so the camera will automatically swivels its full rotation and record a beautiful looking shot. Or you can also manually control movement of the camera by either swiping up or down the screen or using the O-Touch area on the back of the phone.
All these features put together result to a considerably different type of camera. It has certainly changed the way users take photos. Generally, standard photos can come out really nice. It can take 16MP photos with HDR modes and other modes at the expense of a little more extra time in processing that can be used with the ultra HD mode seen on the OPPO Find 7 and 7a. This stitches together a number of photos to produce an image with 15MP resolution.
Honestly, the difference in image quality is very minute. But the fun on the N3 starts when the automatic panorama mode is used. Vertical selfies with this mode results to a really cool looking shot. Additionally, this mode makes taking horizontal panoramas a lot easier to shoot now.
