Beau HD unboxes the new Studio 6.0 LTE smartphone from BLU Products. While the most noteworthy new feature is LTE, the Studio 6.0 LTE features a 6-inch full HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, a 13-megapixel camera, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. The BLU Studio 6.0 LTE retails for $279.
The BLU Studio 6.0 LTE is the next, latest, and greatest BLU product to be released. It is on the higher end of BLU devices available in the market today.
The phone comes with 6-inch full HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE, microSD card slot expandable by up to 32GB, and Android 4.4 KitKat.
To remove the device from the box, you simply need to slide off the top. The phone is put inside a protective bag, where it is safe and secure. Below the phone is a 3200 mAh battery pack, standard USB wall wart, micro USB charging cable, headphones with built-in mic, SIM card installation guide, and a setup instructions guide. Unlike other phones, the BLU Studio 6.0 LTE comes with an included screen protector and a protective case.
After removing from the bag and tearing off the plastic surrounding it, the BLU Studio 6.0 LTE reveals a large device with thin bezels. The phone does not feel too big and almost has a similar weight as the Nexus 6.
The left side contains no buttons, while the right is where the Power/Sleep On/Off and volume controls are located. The top has a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the bottom is where the micro charging USB port is found.
On the front side of the device is the 5MP camera on top along with capacitive buttons on the bottom—Menu, Home, Back commands. The back showcases a 13MP camera sensor and flash with a plastic build. This makes the phone feel lighter.
To start the phone, you simply have to pry open the back cover and insert the battery pack. This is also where you can find the microSD and Dual SIM card slots.
The phone comes with a pre-installed screen protector but for this first look, the screen protector has been removed to hopefully improve the quality and vibrancy of the display. Its full HD 6-inch display is decent, with a tad bit dull color and animations that aren’t very smooth. It makes you wonder what GPU is inside and whether or not the CPU is having trouble powering the device’s full HD display. Despite the fact that it is already running a minimal skin on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, it is already as close to stock Android without being stock Android.
Overall, the BLU Studio 6.0 LTE is a great option for someone looking for a moderately specked large phone that won’t break the bank. For a device with LTE, a price tag of about $200 can be tempting.
