This video is all for you Nexus fans because this video’s title (as you could probably tell by the title)—the Nexus 6 is coming and this is everything that you need to know about the Nexus 6. Welcome to the PhoneDog video explaining what you can expect on the brand new Google and Motorola-owned Nexus 6.

So let me start off from the beginning of the whole Nexus 6 rumor. From a really long time ago, we knew that Motorola was going to be the OEM partner. It was very likely to be the OEM partner for the brand new Nexus 6. And not too long ago, Motorola announced the brand new Moto X (which I have right here) with a 5.2-inch display, Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and all of Motorola’s really great engineering cause it’s a fantastically built device with the metal and aluminum sides and a really nice back case.

And now we’re putting our attention to the Google version of the Nexus 6, which we first thought would be a basically Moto X stripped out of all its Moto software and Moto logos maybe and then branded with the Nexus 6 and Google backing.

But more recently, there’s been more rumors about the Nexus 6 and how different it’s going to be from the original Moto X (2014). The first rumor is it’s going to be a very massive—and I really do mean massive display. It’s going to have a 5.92-inch display which is over a half inch larger than the current Moto X, which is bigger than the iPhone 6 Plus display at 5.5. It’s bigger than the OnePlus One display at 5.5. It’s bigger than Samsung Galaxy Note 4 at 5.7-inch display. It’s going to be a very massive display. And the resolution’s going to be Quad HD 2560x1440, the same as the LG G3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. First of all, that’s a really big size and I’m not exactly sure how much I would like that because this phone is really nice in the hand. 5.2 inches is a great form factor but 5.92 inches, that is just way too big in my opinion. Google might have a smaller version of the Nexus 6 at 5.2 inches. But recently, we haven’t seen anything about it so honestly, the chances of that is under 10%.

For the software, we already know it’s going to be running Android L—that’s the whole point of a Nexus device: pure Android software. The hardware of this Nexus 6 is also something that we have to talk about because Android L is supposed to be a 64-bit architecture system similar to iOS 8 that’s 64-bit. And the Snapdragon 801 chip does not support a 64-bit software. So what’s going to be running underneath the Nexus 6? I’m not exactly sure. Honestly, I still think it’s going to be the 805 and Android L on the Nexus 6 won’t be a 64-bit software. But that’s kind of weird because that’s what they’ve talked about at Google I/O this year. So it’s going to be interesting to see. But definitely a quad-core processor. Around 2.5-2.7GHz, 3GB of RAM. We might have microSD card and expansion—that might be possibility there. Definitely this one does not have microSD card expansion so, who knows.

Also, we’re expecting a 13 or 16MP camera, 4K UHD video—basically the whole nine yards in terms of a modern day Android device and it’s going to be very exciting because the Google Nexus 6 is supposed to be announced any time now—next couple of days, next couple of weeks. Heck, it might be in two months from now. Who knows where Google and Motorola is in terms of designing, building, and manufacturing these devices and when they will spill the plug and talk about the brand new Nexus 6.
