I’ve been playing around and testing the new Moto 360 smartwatch for a while now. And I’ve really grown to love this thing. From the minute I took it out of the box, I knew this was probably going to be the smartwatch to beat. But instead of reviewing it like we already did here on PhoneDog, I wanted to review it in the eyes of style or design since smartwatches not only need to be functional but stylish as well. Whether you’re a businessman or a tech geek like myself, you don’t want to strap on an ugly device on your arm and wear it around. You want something that looks good. So let’s take a closer look at the design of the Moto 360.

So taking a look up close at the Moto 360. First and foremost, there are really two main colors here—there’s the black and there’s the silver version. And as you can see, I have the black version. The Moto 360 is the most stylish smartwatch running Android Wear. I’d say it is the most stylish smartwatch on the market but there’s a lot of other high end “smartwatches” out there running their own form of operating system. The Moto 360 is the most stylish mainstream smartwatch. There you go, that’s pretty safe to say. And as you can see, the one of a kind rounded display is not only unique but it’s bright and vivid. And it really looks good especially since the bezels are so minimal. It’s like the LG G3 of smartwatches. What adds to that is the metal build construction. It might be hard to tell but the Moto 360 is made with metal, everything from the frame to the optional metal wristband. It has the ability to be primarily metal. I will note that the metal wristbands aren’t shipping just yet but the leather wristbands can be swapped out and removed if you’d like.                

But let me talk about the leather because the leather is really not bad at all. It’s 100% American-made leather and it really feels great on the wrist and in the hands. It’s definitely not rubber or plastic, which not only feels cheap but looks cheap. Compared to the other smartwatches, it definitely has the better build materials. Combine the beautiful round display and minimal bezels with the metal build construction and leather or metal wristband, and you have for yourself a very stylish device. It’s a device that you really don’t have to hide. It works with just about any sort of style you might be rocking.

I will add the silver version does look classier and does resemble more of a watch. And the watch face itself is very big so it might stick out more for people with small wrists. But overall, I’m really a fan of the Moto 360 even after I have received it and used it in person.
