It’s time again for us to have a lookback at last week’s Official Smartphone Rankings. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have both been on the list now for a couple of weeks and they’re both doing really, really well. Both are in the top 5 of People’s Choice charts and the Expert’s Choice charts. But it’s fair to say that the experts love the iPhone 6 a little bit more than the people. It is in number one spot. And in case you’re wondering how Bend gate has affected the iPhone 6 Plus’s popularity, it doesn’t seem like it has. It’s got three more votes in the People’s Choice charts than the iPhone 6 placing it in 2^nd place. Still not enough to knock the HTC One M8 away from the top spot. At this point, it’s almost impossible to see anything knocking the HTC One M8 away from number one spot. But we have the Galaxy Note 4 coming very soon and the Z3 by Sony will be on the list soon too. Or at least once it’s available in T-Mobile and possibly another carrier.

Changing the subject to a completely different device, probably the most unique device on the list—the BlackBerry Passport. It’s been available to buy ever since it was announced and it’s doing okay on our official smartphone rankings. In fact, it’s in the top 10; which isn’t anything to be sniffed at considering it’s a phone that’s clearly only geared to a very specific small number of people on the market. But perhaps, what’s maybe good about this phone is that it actually is perfect for that very specific and few people on the market. And there’s not going to be any device that’s released after or there’s been no device released before that. It actually meets the needs that this needs to meet. It’s not going to be an amazing consumer device because that’s not what it’s for. We’re still hoping to get our hands on the Passport and we’ll let you know if we do. But you can vote for it if you love the Passport, if you’re a massive BlackBerry fan and you like that physical keyboard and you love the new, innovative gesture-based controls that you can do across the surface; then give it a vote on the official smartphone rankings.

Those have been the highlights. Let’s get straight into the round-up. On the People’s Choice charts, the Galaxy Note 3 is still in the top 5 with the LG G3 just above that in fourth place. Like I already mentioned, the iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus are in third and second place, respectively; while the HTC One M8 continues its dominance in first place. In the Expert’s Choice chart, the Galaxy Note 3 is in fifth place also. In fourth place is the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. In third, we’ve got the LG G3 with the HTC One M8 taking a back seat to the iPhone 6; which is in the top spot for the second or third week running.
