The good: My Circle Plan, Cheap plan rates, discounts to military members, great customer service
The bad: no free roaming, not enough My Circle numbers
Summary: I have used Cingular and Verizon for the past 10 years and recently switched to Alltel. when I lived in Georgia, I had problems with both Cingular and Verizon to the point that I had to switch several times just to have a working phone. I recently moved to Wisconsin and had NO Cingular coverage. It took less then 10 minutes for them to let me out of my contract because of the lack of coverage. I then went back to Verizon and had great service except for the fact I could not call customer service from my cell phone. I was told that there were no Verizon towers in the area and I was using US Celluar towers. Several months went by and I continued seeing the Alltel commercials for My Circle. I finally called Verizon and they had no problem letting me out of my contract. Since going to Alltel, I have saved over $30 a month for my wireless plan. I have 1000 anytime minutes that my wife and I use and I have not went over 300 minutes at anytime. I think we talked over 3500 minutes that included My Circle and M2M. Now we have decided to move back to the south. I called Alltel and they advised that they do not have many locations in the south that are covered by their towers. When I heard this, I was scared that my phone was not going to work or I was going to get stuck with roaming charges. Alltel told me that they used Verizon and Sprint towers so I felt a little better. Since that time, I have traveled a great deal for job interview and have not been charged with any roaming fees. I have hit a few dead spots on the interstate and have had some dropped calls but nothing like I had with Cingular and Verizon. I think the My Circle plan is by far the greatest cell phone plan that has ever been created. I will never go back to Cingular or Verizon as long as Alltel has the My Circle plan. The only thing that I would change if I had my way is the number of My Circle numbers. I would allow each plan to have at least 15 numbers instead of 10. If Alltel added five extra numbers, then they would have the perfect cell phone plan. Either way, I am not going to complain because it is still better then all the others. And one other thing, their commercials are really funny and they work. I have told all of my friends in Georgia about Alltel but they are afraid that they will have problems and no stores to take care of them. If Alltel would push their product more in the south, they would own the cell phone market.
The good: Thin, but SOLID feel, doesn't scratch, extreme battery life, plenty of features without becoming cumbersome. Super sharp display, easy backup of all data to your machine, so if you lose your phone, you are totally safe. Easy to deal with Voice Mail, Photos, YouTube, iTunes, etc.
The bad: No video recording, hard to tell which direction is up in low light! AT$T's Edge service, (although most people use regular WiFi 90% of the day anyway) Apple needs to open it up to very qualified developers. G3 eats batteries so I'm glad it doesn't have it! WiFi is MUCH faster.
Summary: All n' All, this is the best Cell / Pico Computer ever designed by Mankind. It's a marvel of engineering and will be remembered as the first true "smartphone" 100 years from now.

Extremely deep features, but still easy to use. Love the "Visual" Voice Mail / being able to attach photos to people that call. Google Maps has never been seen before unless you have used an iPhone! Using 2 fingers to zoom in/out is 20 years ahead of any other product. It has MultiTouch, not just a Touch screen! Only cell phone with a REAL Browser... very nice.

Downside, I don't like being tied to any one carrier, it needs to have a FREE Voice over IP feature, the days of Cell Phones are gone, so once Apple turns this feature on, anyone can talk for free. Much better than the Cell Monopolies in my opinion. iTunes is a blast to use on the iPhone, it has a strong speaker, solid vibrate, and best of all the battery can last for DAYS and DAYS without recharging.

(And a lot of people don't yet know) The iPhone battery is just $20 to replace. So keep that in mind if you still have it in 4-5 years when it needs a new one. Otherwise, learn that the lithium-ion battery in this device is HUGE, it's the longest life cellphone of any of them.

Overall, very good experience, the iPhone is the phone to have if you want QUALITY in your life.

---
The good: Price, unlimited everything, and you don't have to worry about whether it's a weekend or after 7pm. I will never, ever, count minutes or messages.
The bad: Doesn't cover a lot of area, yet. Not a big selection of phones yet either. Also, don't expect to speak to a person for at leat 10 minutes from the time you pick up a phone when calling for support.
Summary: But, you can have just about any phone you want flashed over to work with Cricket and they are expanding their calling area every month. So if you don't have it now you may real soon.

Overall, I'm never shocked by a phone bill because it's always $52. a month (including tax).
The good: The phone is goo for going out of town.
The bad: It's not good when you slam the phone and when you open it back up the screen goes blank.
Summary: My Review is that the cricket phone does a lot. For example the cricket takes pictures and it also sends your picture to your e-mail for you. The cricket also lets you download songs .And the kind of cricket I got is a Kyocera Cricket.
The good: dont have to even use my cell phone charger
The bad: dont know if it will adversly affect my phone in the long run
Summary: I have a samsung wafer for a personal phone and a v262 motorola with an extended life battery in it. I went to bed and forgot my wafer charger in the living room, too lazy to get up I plugged in my v262 to the wall charger and set my wafer on top of it, not to lose it. The next morning I got up went to work and noticed my wafer had a full charge, I knew this could not be right becuase it had one bar left on the battery when i had went to bed, i figured it was a glitch and the phone would die soon that day, it did not the phone held the charge all as if it had been charged all night. I have tried this about 4 other times with the same results Its pretty cool but i want to make sure it is not hurting my wafer's battery to do this, if anyone has heard of this or knows anything about it please let me know.
The good: This phone has amazing features. It overall is a pretty cool phone. It has an amazing LCD screen and a very clear camera.
The bad: This phone breaks easily. It also does not receive different types of ring tones.
Summary: This was the best phone of which I thought I had ever had untill last Friday, October 5, 2007. On Friday I received a message and when I went to open my phone to see the message the screen was all messed up. I knew that I had been taking fairly good care of the phone but for some odd reason the screen was all black and white and the screen appeared to be cracked but when I felt the screen it was not cracked at all. Even though I could still answer the phone when somebody called, I myself could not place a call or even see anything on the screen. Overall this is a nice phone if I only knew what happend to the screen and why I can not place any calls.
The good: Good Coverage Area
The bad: Lack of Stylish Cell Phones
Summary: I was with another competitor for 4 years and I got the impression that the quality of mobile phone calls were horrible. About a year ago, I switched to Alltel and I couldn't be happier with the quality of the signal strength.
The good: Stylish Phone, Also very easy to use. The display quality is good. Also takes nice Pictures.
The bad: The Sound Quality could be better. The durability of this phone is not very good. Poor Memory
Summary: The Nokia 6102i is an overall good phone. But After being dropped 3 or 4 times My phone has died. It also has a poor Memory I found that after Taking a few Pics The memory Was full and I found myself deleting things. But on a good not e it is an easy phone to use they have very few dropped calls and there easy to navigate.
The good: When it worked for the four days i had it it was pretty good
The bad: Well i have to say that this pretty much sucks. I've had the phone for four days and when i tried to charge it it said "unable to charge" So I unplugged it and tried again. This time the screen went fuzzy and started blinking. I wouldn't recommend it to any one. From mostly every thing I've read its been recalled. Because it sucks
Summary: Well i have to say that this pretty much sucks. The good: I have the best rates in my area and I've never had connection problems outside of the occasional dead area unless I get off into the hills away from the Metro Atlanta area
The bad: They won't match deals for phones that are cheaper on the internet.
Summary: I have always gotten the best deal from T-Mobile and would recommend them to anyone. My wife even switched from Cingular a year ago after she saw how much better my deal was than hers.
The good: Its very cute and slim
The bad: I can not open my phone and check the date without having to go to my call log or calender.
Summary: I like the phone with an exception of the date. Also the fact that it freezes up.I've always have had a problem with motorola phones.
The good: Great service, large coverage area on the greater freedom or the nationl freedom plans, and great add on plans that save you a bundle.
The bad: A better selection of phones would be nice.
Summary: My husband and I have had Alltel for YEARS! As with any cell provider we have had some rough spots, but all in all the service had been dependable and from the looks of it, very reasonibly priced. We are considering a move to Missouri and I have been told there are no Alltel providers in the area in which we want to move, so I have been researching their main provider, Verizon! I really want to cry! They show to be the top rated, but how can that be? Theior prices and plans are less than great, and their service and coverage areas seem to be horrible. Our Alltel phones will pick up anywhere and anytime we want them to. Like others have said, we get service when friends of ours can't. I can keep my alltel phone and it be no different since I have National Freedom, but i won't have a local number... I think that would be better than having a crumy provider though!

PS- everyone needs to remember that ALL cell providers are going to make mistakes on billing from time to time and are going to have problems. You should always way the long term advantages and not the once in a blue moon mistake.
The good: Features:
Voice Quality: Call Quality is slightly above average for a phone of this price.
Reception: Fights hard to maintain a digital signal even when traveling through mountainous areas.
Internet: Maintains a solid 115Kbps connection even when driving in a car so that you can surf the internet wirelessly using your phone.
Bluetooth: Dependable and works fine with headsets up to 20ft away.
Expandable memory slot: Detected MicroSD cards from 16MB to 1GB and had them ready for us
The bad: The side button for volume (when held down) will change the phone from ringer to vibrate. The button goes off constantly when put into a side pouch, and after months of use, still switches between modes far too easily. The disadvantage here is that you may think that you've set your phone to vibrate in a meeting, but once you've put it away, the button gets pressed and it silently activates the ringer.

The phone's software does not support sending objects over a bluetooth connection. Thi
Summary: The KX5 is not the most attractive phone on the market; it's bulky, awkward, and looks weird when being held up to your ear. Looks aside, this is an amazing phone. With great durability, call quality, and mp3 support, this is a phone that does more than it should. I've tested 40 different phones in the past 6 months, and this one is definitely top-tier.
The good: Great!
The bad: none
Summary: This will make the fourth phone I've purchased for different people...great reception everywhere...I love there service so far and have just recently chose the 50 minute a month monthly plan for 9.99...no problems here!
Very easy to add addtional air time on website...I like it very much!
The good: Best Coverage around, Doesn't lock phone features, Rollover, No roaming fees, Best Phones, good service plans, doesn't use up minutes to use internet, Global Roaming
The bad: Most people around here have verizon, spotty 3g coverage
Summary: At&t gets the best coverage of any provider in my high school and almost everywhere else I've used it. It lacks 3g coverage in the upstate but I've found EDGE(2.5g) to be plenty fast enough unless your planning on watching tv on your phone or something. Even then you can watch smooth streaming video with at least 4 out of 5 bars (which i have almost everywhere). It is very very rare for me to not have signal. Even when traveling out of state. And unlike companies like Verizon, where ever you have signal, internet access is always present.
The good: Its all good.
The bad: it is a pocket pc first, phone second, not sure if thats really a con as you long as you know it upfront.
Summary: I have had the MotoQ, and Palm, so I have a little experience elsewhere and this is the best PPC/PDA.

I initially was turned onto this phone because it connects to WIFI. The advantage is if you want to really utilize this Pocket PC or just "play around" you will be able to do so with a faster connection when your at home, office, or any WIFI hot spot. Also when using the WIFI to do the internet and mail you do not tie up your phone line the whole time.

The e mail is exactly like my PC's windows outlook. When I went to check my mail just open it up and select the send and recieve, or you can set it to check every so often automatically. Its the push technology.

It is very compfortable to use, just turn it and slide the keyboard out. Now it holds like a game controller and wide enough to use your thumbs and type away.

The Qwerty keyboard has large keys, and because it hides away you get a large touch screen

The camera has a 2.0 mega pixel, takes good pictures, as with all digitals you have to know their weakness, outdoors is better than indoor, the flash wants to white the person out, typical with lower mega pixel cameras, BUT for a "Phone" its beyond just great.

Lots of free programs to download and use with WM5 (windows mobile 5), and it is very easy to syncronize your data with outlook contacts, outlook calander, the web favs, etc............also when syncronized open up your phone files and move them around or copy your files and pictures between the phone and your PC.

The phone side of PPC/PDA's is alittle less friendly, and I use thousands of minutes a month, its just not as quick as opening my old razr and dialing, so it takes a bit to get used to but very easy to use just click the green button, the screen gives you the dial pad, dialon the touch screen hit talk and your connected. I guess whats not as easy is being able to feel the keys since you dial on a flat touch screen.

Works easily with Bluetooth. The connection manager to control the internet, wifi, bluetooth etc.... is very easy. You can also easily beam information with bluetooth or the IR port. So you can go to the Kiosk to print pictures and beam them over- its great.

You can also easily use as a modem for your PC called tethering, using USB or bluetooth.

Of course on the "menu" you can find every program you need, but the buttons that HTC has selected on the phone are perfect when you do not want to fiddle with a menu, if you need the camera hit the button on the side!

Being in property management and being able to coordinate my spreadsheats, notices, and my calander make it a breeze to stay on the go.

Hope this helps.
The good: Durable and attrative. Feels comfortable holding it.
The bad: Not a camera phone.
Summary: Our household has 2 of these phones for over 2 years now and are in not in the market of replacing them because they have held up so well. They are attractive and the menus are precisely what we need and simple to use. We carry them daily and they have been dropped and bumped and stored in pockets, purses and vehicle compartments. There is no camera capability but that was not what I wanted.
The good: Great network coverage. Rarely dropped calls, decent phones.
The bad: Customer service is awful, usually do not speak English, Sprint partially cripples phones by locking them, and contracts are extended when you change your plan.
Summary: Ok, in WV, _all_ cell carriers have spotty coverage as you travel down the state. It's the landscape's fault(mountains everywhere). Sprint is better than most, covering areas around the interstates and in the cities. I do roam successfully on nearly any backwoods network around It amazes me that I get such good coverage witht he tiny internal antenna my phone has. Customer service from Sprint is awful, but you can completely avoid it by going to Radio Shack stores(I have no affiliation but being a customer). Radio Shack is an authorized Sprint reseller, and they provide tech support for Sprint phones and plans, especially if you get your Sprint account at Radio Shack to begin with. This way, you call your local Radio Shack, they speak English, they help you out, or call their "special" tech support line and get the answer for you. The other day, after 1 hour on sprint customer support line with no resolution, I had the answer in 5 mins after calling my Radio Shack store. If you buy your phone from Radio Shack, and it doesn't work right when you get it home, take it back ASAP, and Radio Shack will replace it and deal with Sprint for you. In essence, let THEM deal with Sprint's pitiful customer service for you, and you'll be much happier. I don't like that Sprint has partially crippled my Katana, disabling bluetooth file transfers becuase they're greedy (want me to use Vision for all transfers). My previous carrier did not do this, and I miss being able to transfer photos and sounds by bluetooth. The last item is that contracts are extended if you chagne your base plan. However, all the cell phone companies do this, and with Sprint you still accrue future discounts for a new phone based on how long you've had your old phone; not true of all other carriers. So they have faults, some of which are avoidable, most of which are shared by all cell companies in this area.
The good: no contracts, no fees, no surprises
The bad: a bit expensive minutes (but I use mine for emergencies only)
Summary: I've had the same Motorola phone for over 5 years, and it works great! Just found the double minutes plan (around $50 for doubling minutes on EVERY purchase, for as long as you own the phone). Reception is great in my hilly, remote area. I will never switch (I HATED my Verizon cell phone service, which was all that was available when we started!).

Great service for my needs! (I've used customer service a few times...yes, a bit hard to understand, but I've had no problem figuring it out and they've always come through for me).
The good: Everything you could imagine
The bad: nothing

Summary: I love them! Would not change at all. I reccomend them to EVERYONE who needs a new phone comany. Thanks Verizon!!!
