The good: A high power car phone that has great capture ratio for cell phone signal, great voice quality, brightly lit keypad, voice activated dialing, comfortable handset.
The bad: Not portable like a cell phone you can drop into your pocket.
Summary: A great phone for your car or motorhome that has a bag option available. For those who do a lot of business on the road or live in an area of fringe reception, the Motorola M900 or M800 is for you. The M900 is GSM and the M800 is analog and CDMA.
The good: I love the style, great and VERY easy to use!
The bad: Speakerphone kinda sucks, kinda is low. Cant use speakerphone while phone is shut.
Summary: This phone has been the best phone i have ever had! Works well except in my nehiborhood but seems to be ok downtown. This phone has a great camera in it! Also would recomend to everyone!
The good: Better reception than my more expensive LG and Nokia phones.
The bad: None
Summary: I have nothing but good things to say about this phone. It is clearly not top of the line, but hey, if you don't know that before you buy, you're not paying attention.
The good: bright screen, battery stays charged long.
The bad: i cant have on single phone call without the person on the other end say, "i keep hearing myself echo.." "you sound muffled" ..."what i coulnt hear you"
Summary: do not buy this phone. the warrenty gave me 15 days to return it for a different phone, its too late and im stuck with it. the first two weeks i was always working and on the go, i used my phone late and assumed everyone that told me they heard themselves was to blame on the area i was in, i live in townhouses by the oceanfront, its a busy area so there may be some phone technical difficulties, eventually i realized, it was anywhere i use my phone. dont waste your money, and the thin size of this phone lets it slip between anything and it gets scrached and dirty.....blahhhh, the number buttons are too flat and you are constantly getting flustered!
The good: Great coverage area, very few dropped calls.
The bad: Lack on newer phones, no deals on new phones when you get service.
Summary: I have used Alltell for over 4 years, using the same phone as when I signed up and same plan. I travel all over the US and have found very few places my phone does not work. My phone will work when most people I am with can not get service. Does not seem to work good in Virginia but no troubles anyplace else. I have a 900 minute plan with two phones but with circle of friends and calling people on Alltel service, I never come close to using my minutes. Only dropped a call a couple of times while driving, mostly in locations away from anything. Very pleased with the service. Better than the two other companies I tried prior to switching to Alltel.
The good: The old, grandfathered "Unlimited Plan" for $59.95 per month. Call as much as you want in your "local calling area". Unlimited Axcess Package - send/receive as many text, picture and video messages as your heart desires - along with mobile web - all for $19.99 per month.
The bad: Quite frankly, the customer service sucks. It's like pulling teeth to get a "warm, live body" on the phone - automation HELL. Exuberant roaming charges if you're not on a National Freedom Plan. Roaming and airtime charges for accessing the mobile web when not in your local calling area. Limited number/styles of phones available. Not keeping up with current trends and promotions of other carriers.
Summary: I have been an Alltel customer since June of 1993...yep, started out with that big, bulky BAG phone - LOL! Alltel service is okay for the most part, but can truly stand some improvements and more cell towers. I work for AT&T and have been in the telecom industry for 16 years, so I'm somewhat of an 'insider'. I have a company phone, which of course, is AT&T and let me tell you - there is NO comparison to the network coverage, dropped calls (lack thereof), promotions, phone/PDA offerings, etc. The straw that broke the camel's back with me is that I recently traveled to Houston for a week. I called and paid $10 for the 'Free To Roam' package of 100 roaming/LD minutes. Well, I get my bill and I have $293 worth of roaming charges - WHOA! They were all mostly for internet usage. I don't know if a switch got hung up somewhere or what, but the charges aren't valid. I was out enjoying my vacation and NOT on the internet from my phone. Alltel basically refused to research the issue or issue any goodwill credits (remember, I'm a 14 year customer!). Mind you, this is by far the first 'roaming' issue I've had with Alltel. Another thorn in my side is that they are trying to 'strong arm' the customers still on the old, grandfathered "Unlimited" plan to switch over to a new National Freedom Plan. If you're on the old plan, they tell you that you're on another network technology and you can't upgrade to certain phones, but can only use the old, cheap, below standards unless you switch over to a new, more expensive plan. Additionally, when My Circle of friends came out, I tried to enroll and they told me you had to be on a plan that was at least $59.99 or more per month. Well guess what? My plan is $59.95 per month and I couldn't use My Circle - this is all a marketing strategy to FORCE people off of that plan where they're making no money. Those are my gripes! But overall, through the years, service has been good - room for improvement though.
The good: The advanced abilities are in the memory configurable way information is transmissionable as to permanent storage - or safe protection passage where the current device application effort can have loss and the loss of the users intended effort or memory of intention.
The bad: The lock-out's in the navigation of the menu's are annoying.
Summary: The combined ability of the Nokia 6085 with a hewlett packard calculator , (USB connection), gives the benefit of outdoor use of both devices.
The good: I can reach everywhere!!
The bad: Occasional dropped call.
Summary: I can reach out in the middle of no where on a Louisiana back road and talk to my sister-in-law who has another cellular service (her cellular service doesn't work in the area she lives)Also, I went with them because my mom, lives across the state line into Arkansas, and she gets wonderful reception, so we joined. I get reception just about everywhere. I love Alltel!
The good: Great Customer Service, Phones, Customer Service, ALWAYS a Clear Signal, Customer Service
The bad: I'll let you know when I come across one
Summary: I seriously regret the day I dropped this service. I thought I'd try to save money by switching companies - my cell phone life has been a living hell ever since! I have tried all of the major providers (Cingular with & without AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, Metro)and hands down, Verizon is by far superior. I won't go into the horrid details, but my word! I can't believe that we, as consumers & end users, are allowing these companies to straight rape, pillage & plunder the way they do. I mean, even my worst dates will offer dinner & a movie. I just threw my "Gettro" phone out the window today on the freeway. I'll be taking this months payment to the first Verizon store I see in the morning. At least I'll have some sanity back in one area of my life!
The good: no hidden fees, little to no dropped calls, superb customer service & nite/weekends minutes start at 7pm! not 9pm.
The bad: small choice of phone & since they change plans, unlimited nite/weekends plans kinda high.
Summary: I got hooked on Virgin Mobile about 2 years ago. This is one prepaid phone company that is very trustworthy with outstanding service. Did you know that if your phone is lost or stolen, you can shut your VM phone down right from the website?? I had mine stolen on a Saturday nite & within minutes, I went to website and shut my phone down. The following Monday, I contacted VM customer Service & they gave me another Snapper (cmd8915) for about $35 rather than the full purchase price! That was awesome! I can't really say anything too bad about Virgin Mobile because I have had nothing but a pleasant experience with them!
The good: light weight
The bad: Doesn't last very long for the price I paid.
Summary: I have had this phone for about 7 months. It has never been dropped/abused. The backlight doesn't work if opened all the way. When opened half way all of the numbers/names etc. are upside down. I was told to remove then replace the battery. Still doesn't work properly. I was told to send it back and they will return it in 2-3 business days. For the price I paid this is absurd.I do not get a loner phone because I did not purchase the insurance. Why should I? My i860 lasted two years before I had any problem. If these phones are defects they should be replaced at no charge.
The good: Good phone. Quiet keys. Large screen. Good features. I absolutely love this phone more than any other phone I have used. I have not had a blackberry so I cant compare that.
The bad: None!
Summary: Great phone. I have hated Samsung phones. But I am very pleased with this one.
I like ALLTEL okay. No problem with the service and customer service is good in the store, I have never had problems with my service and no problem with phone going out in areas with lots of trees, etc. I recommend Alltel.
The good: Have had US Cellular for a little over a year. Good coverage, good customer service.
The bad: Limited phones but getting better. Just got the blackberry 8830 and I hear the Q is on it's way.
Summary: Overall very satisfied with US Cellular. Has been a very positive experience.
The good: i love that fact the buttons are coved away from dirt and dust and the bluetooth capablity is really awsome adn the extra memory card is really nice when I used the mp3 player
The bad: my screen cracked and they dont cover it on the warnety the battery life was not like I expected short and some what unexpected adn the price tag when I first got it was a little steap
Summary: really great mp3 and best bluetooth on a phone I have ever had but the batery life was a little unexpeted and was easy to pick up from the get go adn the price was not the atrative etiher
The good: Great reception, User interface, battery life.
The bad: Charger port fails
Summary: I really liked this phone but it stopped charging after 9 months. This is a known issue with this phone. The charger port wears out in quick order. Still charges after rigging with aluminum foil. It now serves as a backup. Avoid at all costs.
The good: Easy Qwwerty keyboard
Touch Screen
Nice Internet
Good voice quality
Easy to use
Keys light up for easy use in dark places
Battery life is good
Clear Bluetooth
Windows Media player for music and videos
Nice size for a PDA
Great Camera

The bad: a little hard to carry around without worrying about messing up the screen;you have to hae a case to avoid scratching it.
You also have to get a memory card, because it does not have much internal memory
Summary: I love this phone. I have tried other qwerty phones (including the Treo phones), but this surpasses them all. I really like the touch screen and all of the things I listed above.
I do see that people have been complaining about the size. If you want a phone with all of these features, it is going to be a little bigger. Especially if it has a huge screen like this one does. Plus, most PDAs are about this size anyway-and that's without the phone/internet feature.
Also, people are saying that the internet is slow. I will admit-it is not as fast as my desktop's cable internet, but this is the equivolent of dial-up, and I say that it is pretty fast. It has a built-in Internet Explorer, but I found that the Opera browser makes the pages load a lot faster. The cool thing, though is whether you use Opera or Internet explorer, you dont have to use a WAP site. Most phones will only let you view the websites that have WAP capability. This phone allows you to view all pags as they are.
It will also play music videos/videos, which is awesome! It will sync with your desktop Windows Media Player. The awesome thing is that this phone is Microsoft compatible all the way, and that is pretty nifty, since Microsoft has a monopoly on nearly everything computer related:) Anyway, I really like it and I would recommend it to anyone. Oh, and once you get a memory card, you can download whatever and the memory isn't an issue.
It also has a spiffy camera w/a video player. I really like it!!! :):)
The good: Very Stylish, Takes Great Pictures, Bright Display, Battery Life Is AMAZING!, Charges Quick, Great Recemption, Sends TXT and PIX Messages Very Quick, Great Voice Quality, Very Durable

The bad: Flat Keyboard Makes It Hard To Type Text Messages, Pathetic Speaker Phone
Summary: I've Been Using This Phone For 5 Months Now And I Am Truly Impressed! I've Had Other LGs That Are Great But This One Is Byfar The Best One Yet. I've heard People Say The Battery Life Is Bad, But Its Not True The Battery Lasts A long Time! Not So Great For Texters But Overall Its A Great Phone. Its Also Paired Perfectly With The Verizon Network!
I have been with all of the carriers, T mobile, Sprint, Att/cingular(or whatever they are calling themselves) Altel, Cricket. I have had nothing but bad expeirences with them all. T mobile, worst customer service ever, they blame you for everyting and charge you extra charges for everything. 1000 anytime minutes was more like 100 min out of network and you were screwed after that plus if you travel you can rarely get service anywhere other than a city. Sprint was not too bad with service but worst customer service ever. None of them actually seem to be able to speak english. They all read from a script and will keep you running in circles when you are looking for help. All I wanted to do was get my phone to work and it took me 3 hours switching from rep to rep and every time i was transfered the person seemed to know less and less about the problem. Altel was ok not very good service. dropped calls all the time. customer service was ok.. Now for the worst ever...Att/Cingular. Fewest dropped calls my ass..wait wait forget what i said i never dropped a call but that was because i could never make a call. Every time i would try to dial out i would get that stupid message all circuits are busy please try again later..lets just hope i'm not being murdered.. i was trying to call my family to check on a loved one and tried for half an hour to call out i finally just searched for a pay phone..then the customer service..such rude arrogant people...they treat you like you are stupid and are bothering them..and also they are closed on weekends( are you freaken serious) they give you and emergency number that you can dial and wait on hold for 2 hours to be told we can only troubleshoot if you have problems with your bill please call back on monday.. then without letting me know they extend my contract saying when i changed my text plan i agreed to a new 2 year..

now on to verizon..i have been with them for 2 years never a dropped call..also the best customer service i have ever had...they spend time with you actually explaining things..they go over you features and plan to save money..as to one of the previous comments a person put on here they do not extend your contract for everything..they only extend from what i understand if you change your calling plan and have less than a year left..also if you are like me and have busy months every now and then if you call by like 3 days before your end of bill month you can make the change to save from overages.. i do this like 4 times a year..also they can have the calling plan go back down for you when your min start over for the next month and you not even have to call back..if you do that the contract that you had to resign when your changed is like it never happened so there is no extension.. this is the second time i have been with verizon as i had to move internationally for a while and a great thing they have is if you have to cancel before the contract is up you dont necessarily have to pay $175 ea
The good: Push to talk
The bad: CUSTOMER SERVICE
Loyalty to customer
Summary: Before Sprint took over, Nextel was very easy to work with. They would deal with customers individually and most times come to solution if there was a problem - and they were always courteous. However, ever since Sprint took over and brought their legacy of non-customer service it has gone to pot. No one at customer service can ever do anything reasonable. They surely must be reading from a script of do's and don'ts. I have been a Nextel user for years, but when my contract ends next month - that's it. I am leaving. And the straw that broke the camel's back was when I asked them to waive extending my contract if I increased my phone plan and added a line. They would not budge on it .. so neither will I. I will greatly miss the PTT, but I will not for one day miss Sprint.
