I have owned every iPhone except for the 8, since the x came out so close together, & this has to be the icing on the cake, the champagne of all, the cherry to, take the prize!!! Every thing from face recognition, to anti smear, anti reflection, bottom flip to close screens, size, full glass screen, camera, battery life, siri, phone not getting hot while being used, make this the best iPhone ever!!!!! Apple has outdone itself, yet again!!! The only thing missing is, an option to, write texts, with a delivery time, set in the future, so they can be written in one time zone, & sent at a convenient time, to another time zone automatically, at a set time, so people are not disturbed, during inconvenient times, while asleep etc!!! This is an idea for apple to incorporate into their phones, to take delivery of messages, over the top!!! Thanks Apple for revolutionizing the modern phone, & making the world, get so, small!!!!
So I have had personal experience with S8+ and its very exceptional for what Samsung has done here. To start off the screen. The screen is one of the best AMOLED screens out there compared to competitors and offers a very bright screen, rich details, the colors are spot on with it being a AMOLED. Secondly the battery life is well, its way better than an iphone thats for sure. On a daily use I could go about all day and have about a little over 30% by the time I set it on the charger, but overall battery life will surpass most iphone users or other users expectations on how long it can last. Now on to the camera, its very nice of samsung to make it to where at night S7 an S8 users have the upper hand when taking pictures because of a F1.7 aperture that allows all that light to come in which any day of the week blows any other phones out there right now out of the water. Quality of the shots are as expected on a galaxy to be pretty good for competition. Now for the last section, the performance is phenomenal when multi-tasking and its a breeze you dont need a A11 bionic chip to do what this Samsung can do. Gaming is pretty good too i enjoy playing the games that are fitted for the entire screen and hopefully in the future all games are converted for the S8 so that entire quad HD+ screen can be in use. Now the verdict here is, if you want a phone thats true quality and is bigger in screen, then this phone is for you. Sorry apple but you are know where close to what Samsung can do and will do, remember that. Thankyou
I like the phone. Good battery and excellent camera for stills and videos. But I had used my wife's S7 for 6 weeks before my new S8+ arrived and when I started using the S8+ keyboard, got very disappointed. It doesn't automatically space at the end of a word. Arbitrarily substitutes words I don't intend for what i typed. same words as on the S7. Doesn't seem to build a new personal disctionary of my usual words consistently either. Typing on this phone is a nuisance when it had been so much easier on the S7. Yes I'd still buy it again for the battery and photos, that this is a daily nuisance and so far, I haven't detected any effort by Samsung to improve it (over the past 6 months).
Impressed! Better than expected and better than some of the expert reviews. For example, a popular critic said the phone felt cheap. Nothing can be more from the truth. You feel like you are holding a piece of solid platinum. Best iPhone to date and I have owned every single one since the beginning.
Near perfect for the price ($29 or even cheaper). I just bought this phone about six months after buying the similarly/identically priced Alcatel Ideal, which I thought was a very good phone for the bargain price also. This one has it beat. Admittedly, this particular model is almost a year newer than that other, and it is almost the same phone except that this one is a bit better in many ways. The only thing I like about the Alcatel Ideal better than the ZTE Majesty Pro LTE is that the Ideal can be easily rooted whereas I haven't found a way to root this one yet.
We were with Verizon for years. then, 3 years ago we moved to tmobile. what a mistake that was. Price was good, service was not. They kept saying we were in coverage. NO way! once our contract was up I had read in consumer reports about consumer cellular. They were just too expensive. Then we almost did repubic but their phones were expensive and the use of wifi for calling was not what we wanted. So we ended up with a company called ting. Started out fine, but after a while our bill kept going up, had really no way to rein it in. And their customer NO SERVICE was not wanting to help! I stumbled upon a site called my rate plan for Twigby and I am so glad I did. We all got new phones for next to nothing and the service is just as good as when we had verizon and we pay less then when we were with tmobile. I tell all my friends about Twigby. It's great and we get $20 every time I refer someone. Shout from the mountain Twigby is great!!!! The only thing that could be better is if they had stores, or I would give them all 5's.
As a fan of both android, and iOS. I would have to say that the iPhone X is by far the best phone I’ve ever had. The screen is amazing and easy on the eyes and I really don’t notice the notch as much. Battery life on this bad boy is unbelieveable! Coming from the 7 plus, it’s a big difference. Face ID is the ish!!! All I have todo is look at the phone for notices to appear, and unlocking is quick and easy. The iPhone X is all around an amazing device and if you want a big screen that still fits in your hand, this is the phone!
The S8 has some nice features but I was surprised at what it doesn't have. The first big thing I noticed is that it doesn't have is a "Do Not Disturb" mode that syncs with google calendar appointments and meetings. Nothing is more embarrassing than being that guy who's phone starts ringing in the middle of an important meeting or event. I had to use the "Tasker" app to set this up. My previous phone, a Moto X came with this feature out of the box over 2 years ago. All phone notifications were muted if you were marked as "Busy" on your calendar. I just assumed the Galaxy phones would have something similar to the Moto Assist functionality I had so enjoyed on the Motorolla. The S8 has no "driving mode" where it will read me a text when I'm driving and ask me if I would like to send a text in response all with my voice. These are a couple of functions my previous phone had that I used practically every day. Bixby is suppose to allow voice calling but it has been highly unreliable for me using voice commands. Thankfully the phone does come with Google assistant which works far better than the Samsung Bixby function. The Bixby button is frankly, just in the way. I turned it off. I should say a couple of good things about the phone I suppose. It has a great camera, the display is awesome and it has good storage capabilities. That was a big downside of the Moto X was storage. I've been hearing from happy Galaxy users for years about how awesome their phones are. Personally, I'm not that impressed. I'm hoping it will grow on me.
Let me just say, I am a fan of Apple. I have owned other brands in the past but switched to the 4s and haven’t looked back. I received the iPhone X on release day. After 2 days, I can honestly say I don’t miss the previous design. The X is a beautifully designed, easy to navigate phone. iPhone users it’s been ingrained in us to use the Home button. But after 10 minutes on the X, the swiping gestures feel natural. I’m glad the iconic Home button is gone! And what’s up with this stupid notch thing everyone is complaining about? I literally had to google it. I don’t see a notch. I see a black border which is part of the screen. I think it’s aesthetically pleasing and fits the design perfectly. When you hold the X, you feel how well built it is. This wasn’t designed with cheap materials. You feel the weight. It reminds me of the 4 in terms of weight. Also with anything new, there will be little glitches here and there just like all the other brands. But as flagship iPhone, this is a perfect start! Apple will do what Apple does, which is build upon and perfect! The crisp and sharp display is gorgeous. And it’s super fast. The battery is also really good but I don’t run a ton of apps like most kids today. The reception is great as well! The calls aren’t breaking up. That’s partly due to the carrier I have and area I live in. I can honestly say when I heard the price tag I said out loud, “there is no way in hell I’m paying that price!” But I’ve been longing for a completely new iPhone design. In my opinion, it was money well spent! Thank you Apple! Keep moving forward and continue to be unique!
Justin at T-Mobile in Eagan, Mn on Cliff Road was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting our entire family phones. Barbara Parupsky
I have had my S8+ for about a month now and it's a great phone no doubt. But! It's all scratched up!! This generation gorilla glass is crap! I have not dropped it or done anything other than remove it from my pocket and there are deep scratches on the front and back? Never saw this in any other phone! Not scratch resistant! Had my S6 Edge+ for two years dropped it got it wet I mean I put that phone through abuse and not a scratch on the screen ever!! But my new phone screen was ruined in the first week? I feel this is messed up because now I have to use this phone that's all scratched I'd rather have the old glass!
Hi. I am a former S5 Active customer and could not wait for the S8 active's release. I am a busy parent with kids so our family heavily relies on mobile phones when running around town for kid sporting events, etc. The first thing that I was amazed by was the battery life. There is a performance mode feature on the phone that also helps extends the life. Very helpful! The phone itself runs apps at blazing speeds. Could not be any happier. I understand display ratings are important for some reviewers but for me. I am not concerned with the display resolution as long as youtube/ netflix is running when in a tight pinch. Taking pictures and video were a huge step up from the S5 active so this was noticeable too. I found myself using wifi-calling features more often but that is because my carrier doesn't reach everywhere. Very happy. The design is great, very dense when holding it and very rugged in appearance. I like that the back panel is no longer removable. The only issue that we have experienced was that the humidity sensor definitely works in southern climates! When the outdoor temps were 90+ degrees with very high humidity, we had to find creative ways to recharge the battery during a "reboot" procedure that we googled. Other than that, we are very pleased. Would recommend to other parents too.
Rock and Kim., bought the new iPhone 8+ Kendra sold us the phone, she was polite, helpful and very knowledgeable. Justin store manager has the store running top notch. Great shopping experience.
Idk. I piteverything in 3s cause I just got the phone. Except design cause why are you still making glass phones. It's stupid shit. But it comes with these shitty axz headphones. Which is weird cause samsung actually makes decent headphones.not sure why they wouldn't have their own product. Especially when you're paying so much for the phone and what it comes with. Other than that it's been decent so far. Lock stuffs a lol whatever. And I'm sure they've made things more difficult in ways. But I had the s6 before (I liked it's shape better cause it didn't feel as breakable even tho that price of shit was made completely out of glass too. Either way.still better than Apple I guess.
I've had service through Metro pcs, AT&T, Cricket you name it. Out of all of the companies T-mobile is by far the BEST. They work with you in every way. At one point I was behind 2 months and they let me set a payment arrangement that was perfect for me, they even waved the reconnect fees! That is just one scenario that they helped me through. Any problems I've ever had from billing problems, to claiming insurance they have made it work in every way possible. All the customer service representatives are proffesional, kind, and try 100% to get the problem resolved! I highly recommend this phone company to everyone.
So the phone itself is a beauty, I have been using it for some times now so I am able to thoroughly review this phone. The design is beautiful, the screen is beautiful, the speed is amazing. But there is an issue that erases all of that and that I have been back and forward with Samsung support attempting to fix. It started about three months ago (Just an FYI my job title is IT Project Associate for a government contracting agency), the issue is that first the google assistant will pop up by itself. I had then disassociated everything on the phone from the google assistant but yet somehow a black google listening screen would pop up interrupting applications and wasting my time, once google assistant would pop up (though I removed everything I could other than my google account from the phone) it would in turn disable my microphone. As a hobby I record music through my car so this became a major issue. Aside from that the phone with pause songs that were playing in the background without the application actually open on screen, it would also change the song by itself, another issue for my music recording. So what did I do? I took it to my sprint provider who sent me to their "technical" sprint store that handled hardware, the guy literally said and I quote "I do not have the brain power for this, try using the Samsung plus app". So I decided to give it a shot, first of course they asked me to clear the cache, the problem persisted so instead of asking me to start the phone in safe mode to see if it was another application affecting it, they figured why not erase all the data, lets do a factory data reset, so I did that. Then the next option was to send it to Samsung which would take a good 5 to 7 business days to get back to me, so now I had to go to Walmart and get a garbage trackfone for 7 days, thanks a lot Samsung. Get the phone back it works for a few days then the issue happens again, I decided to wait and chatted with an expert and search through forums to find the real issue cause it seems Samsung did not want to do the due diligence on their part and fix it for me, and in speaking with an expert I found out you get free device security hidden in the device maintenance menu, but wait..... that is carrier specific so if you don't have the right carrier you don't get the security, in a day and age where security is essential you think they wouldn't be that idiotic as not distribute it to all phones so I emailed a rep asking if they could push the security in an update to phones to allow it to have that functionality. The rep completely broke apart my question and said WE at Samsung strive to promote the best security, and also she said we regularly push update to make sure the phone is up to the newest model. This did nothing to answer my question or help me so I left that there, I spoke to another representative who told me to take the phone to the geek squad Samsung rep at best buy, I asked if any work would void the warranty since that was what I was told if they do anything to the hardware, but software is fine and they wanted to do a "software reflash" big name for factory reset with a couple of test that obviously did nothing because once I left before downloading my stuff back to the phone I tried playing youtube in the car and guess what the music paused and the Google assistant popped up again but this time with listening and everything on the screen because the reset all my work of deactivating the listening device that could be monitoring my actions. Oh yeah, I went to the best buy recommended by the support team that same day, apparently Samsung doesn't even know where it has reps because all best buys in Hampton roads other than the Newport news got rid of their Samsung reps, I was told it was because "Apple pays more". Samsung this phone is supposed to be one of your best phones and it certain markets right now it is rated #1, but these glitches, the inaccessibility of support that can actually help or do something, the fact that device security is carrier specific in this day and age, and the fact you keep trying to do the same bs to my phone that isn't working like having me send it out for another 7 days is an issue and should be noted for others to see. I am going to send my phone in again, I told the representative if the issue persists after I send it in and the option is not to replace the device with a new one entirely then I WILL be switching from Samsung to either Google's Pixel 2, Red's new Holographic Hydrogen One phone set to come out next year, or possibly the iPhone x, though I have never in my life supported iPhone, I like their computers but not the iPhone, I have always fought with my friends over who's phone is better so in no way can I join them. But if the issue persist I will definitely not be going Samsung anything to do with cellphone's and I will consistently advocate against the purchasing of any Samsung Model that how bad this experience has been and the funny part is at the end of every call with every rep they Samsung cares and appreciates your business, yeah about as much as a blue whale appreciates the krill it eats. I could not give the phone a bad review though it has truly been beautiful other than those issues, the display is immaculate, the storage and potential of the device are nice. But don't ever get the idea Samsung truly cares about you cause they don't, they will throw you through the loop just to avoid replacing a malfunctioned device. I wish I could drop tags in but sadly they are not allowed and I doubt any Samsung agent will see this.
I had the samsung galaxy s4 before this phone and it finally wore out. I was hesitant about getting a new phone, but now I'm glad I did. I absolutely love the Samsung galaxy s8. The reception is great. It takes great pictures and the battery life is wonderful. Yes its an expensive phone, but so far it's been worth it. I have also owned an apple phone in the past and I would much rather have a galaxy. To me there is no comparison.
Boost Mobile claims "Boost makes it easy to switch."... Unfortunately they only make it easy to "switch TO Boost"... NOT AWAY FROM Boost. While a customer with Boost, I really enjoyed their perks.... Pay on time, get a discount... Stable network with no outages. What's not to love? However, once I tried to disengage (to leave the US for work -- not to go to another carrier!) -- the challenges began. The customer service rep speaks from a script trying to convince you to stay, and has no idea how to react to scenarios different from the norm. At one point I yelled at her "Listen to me! I'm leaving the country!!" When I arrived in Europe I learned that my iphone was locked. (OK, my bad for not doing more research while stateside...) It was a struggle to find an online customer service request form. Then the promised 24-hour response did not happen. When I finally got a response they simply followed the script and asked me to call a US toll free number. Which I cannot call from Europe. I responded by email asking for a direct number to call. Once again, the Boost rep, while signing his name in a show of friendliness, continued to repeat the script and advised me to call the toll free number. Bottom line - good deal for low cost cellular service for 99% of scenarios... but unable / unwilling to deal with unicorns.
I accidentally dropped my phone in a river which was flooded at the time of a rain shower. i didn’t know what to do, so left my contact number with the person living close to that place, just in case the water level decreases and you can find the phone give me a call. And i got a call after 24 hours that I’ve found you phone. And it was working properly. No problem at all. I was stunned by the fact that after staying in then water for 24 hours it was still working properly, no problem in the speakers too. I would like to give 5stars to this phone. Its WATERPROOF!
I have been a samsung user my whole life ( well since they released the first galaxy) and have stuck by them and upgraded to pretty much every model they have released. Having just upgraded from the Samsung s7 to the s8 i am going to give my honest opinion on the phone. Lets get the good bits out of the way first - Camera's are good, always have been and always will be, the addition of new filters and ease of using features on the camera is welcomed. The iris scanner is good, especially if you are in the gym etc and need to unlock your phone quickly. It has good sound and music production from its speakers. The display is amazing and crystal clear, great for videos and games if you like that sort of thing. The big screen is good and the phone looks and feels alot slicker and more expensive than previous models. The not so good bits - Bixby - what a horrendous invention this is, it dosnt understand the English Language for the UK, and there isnt any option to change it from US, meaning it dosnt recognise contact names, or words like whatsapp, it constantly had "connection" problems and cannot perform the tasks at hand, google and S voice were much more competent, you can teach bixby but that kind of defeats the object, it needs real improvement if samsung want to rival siri, it has its own button as well which isn't warranted, it dosnt wake up with the commands set by voice and it generally isnt very quick at all. Battery Life - The battery life on my brand new device isnt nearly as good as my 18 months old s7, so the claim it lasts as long as you do - for me isn't warranted. A charge will last about 10 hours with very minimal use. Design - its a nice design, but dosn't feel particularly solid or well built and also feels like if you dropped it your screen would be obliterated. its fairly quick to use in general however does have the usual samsung glitches after update where it takes about a minuet for everything to appear back on your screen. The finger print scanner - lord only knows why they put it on the back of the phone right next to the camera but they did, meaning its so difficult to get your finger positioned on it properly and quickly that its not even worth having it activated, then your getting "clean your camera lense" message constantly because you have got finger prints all over it. All in all, its a nice phone and i am pleased with it for the usage that i require, however if i was an avid gamer, tv watcher or the like, then i think the battery life would be a massive downfall for me. I like to set reminders and use voice activation whilst im driving which i cannot do with this phone because of the installation of bixby (which dosnt support navigation like google did) I would recommend it but only if you are looking for a general use phone.
