ZTE’s ZMAX line of Android phablets started life on T-Mobile in 2014, then the ZMAX 2 jumped GSM ships and was released on AT&T. Now a new report claims that the next ZMAX phone will switch back to the magenta side.
According to VentureBeat, the ZTE ZMAX Pro will be launched by T-Mobile sometime this summer. The ZMAX Pro will reportedly run Android 6.0 Marshmallow on a 6-inch 1920x1080 display, which would make it the largest ZMAX phone to date. To compare, the original ZMAX has a 5.7-inch screen, while the ZMAX 2 has a 5.5-inch display.
The ZMAX Pro’s spec list is also said to include 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, and 32GB of storage. Rounding out the internals will be an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor and 2GB of RAM.
There’s no word on how much the ZMAX Pro might cost at launch, but given its mid-range spec list, we wouldn’t expect it to be too pricey. If it is indeed an affordable device, it could be a pretty attractive addition to T-Mobile’s lineup thanks to features like a 13-megapixel camera, fingerprint reader, and 1080p screen.
