The original LG Phoenix launched on AT&T way back in 2011 with Android 2.2 in tow. Fast-forward 5 years later and its successor has arrived.
The LG Phoenix 2 is a new Android phone for AT&T’s prepaid GoPhone lineup and it’ll be launching on AT&T’s website today for $99.99. If you prefer to do your phone buying the old brick and mortar way, the Phoenix 2 will be available at “select national retailers” starting May 14, and it’ll finally hit AT&T stores on June 10.
In exchange for your Franklin, you’ll get an Android 6.0 smartphone with a 5-inch HD display, 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, and a 2125mAh battery. While those specs won't melt your face off, they're not bad for a device that costs $100 without a contract. They're also quite an upgrade over the original LG Phoenix, which shipped with a 3.2-inch 480x320 display, 3.2-megapixel camera, and Android 2.2.
