The newest member of the Android One family is here.
The Lava Pixel V1 is now officially official, and it’s pretty much just was expected based on yesterday’s leak. You can now buy the Pixel V1 from Indian retailers Flipkart and The Mobile Store for Rs. 11,349, which is approximately $177 USD.
The Pixel V1 offers a 5.5-inch 1280x720 display covered with scratch-resistant Asahi Dragontrail glass, as well as 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras that’ll produce software-enhanced 13MP and 8MP images.
Inside of the V1 lives a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (25.47GB of which is available to the user), and a microSD slot. Also included are dual SIM slots, a 2650mAh battery, and 3G connectivity.
In terms of software, the Pixel V1 comes with Android 5.1 pre-installed. And just like other Android One phones, Google promises that the V1 will get the new version of Android “soon after it’s released.”
As I said when the Pixel V1 leaked yesterday, the device is perhaps the best-looking Android One phone to date, and it’s got a pretty respectable feature set for its price. The lack of 4G might seem like a glaring omission to some, but that’s not as big a deal in other parts of the globe as it is in the US.
