We’ve already gotten a couple of early looks at the Moto G (3rd Gen.), but I’m sure that at least of few of you wouldn’t mind another peek at the new 2015 version of the G.
A few images that show the Moto G (3rd Gen.) as well as its packaging have been posted by HellomotoHK. The shots show Motorola box with purple shapes, a black Moto G (3rd Gen.), and a couple of extra backs. We can also see the back of the box and the phone itself.
In addition to giving us a preview of the Moto G (3rd Gen.) and its packaging, this latest leak backs up a few of the device’s rumored specs. We can see that the new G will offer a 5-inch 1280x720 display with Gorilla Glass, a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, an IPX7 resistance to water, and at least one model with dual SIM slots.
Today’s leak also suggests that the new Moto G will have 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. Previous rumors have suggested that the phone will offer 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM, so it’s possible that Motorola will offer a couple of different versions of the device.
Perhaps the most notable update that’s expected to come with the Moto G (3rd Gen.) is Moto Maker support, meaning that buyers will be able to customize some of the colors of the G’s exterior. Past Moto G models have been well-received as affordable Android phones with capable spec lists, but if this Moto Maker rumor becomes reality, that could make the new G even more highly-regarded than its predecessors.
Motorola is expected to reveal its new Moto G, as well as a new Moto X, at an event on July 28.
