Samsung hasn’t revealed any details about its Android 5.1 update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, but thanks to the rumor mill, we’re getting an early look at some of the update’s features.
The folks at SamMobile have managed to get their hands on early builds of Android 5.1.1 for both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, and they’ve posted a video that shows off several of the updates new features. There aren’t many groundbreaking changes, but there are a few goodies worth mentioning, like an easy-to-use slider for changing the exposure when you’re taking a photo, a button to organize the apps in your drawer alphabetically, and the ability to remove S Finder and Quick Connect from your notification shade.
Since Android 5.1 is more of a bug-fixing update for Android 5.0 rather than a huge new feature release, it’s not terribly surprising to see that there’s nothing terribly huge in this impending update. That said, the features that are included look nice, and I’m sure that GS6 owners will just be happy being on the newest public version of Android. Plus, the build shown in this video is still early, so Samsung could end up throwing more stuff in before it actually pushes Android 5.1.1 to the GS6. That update is expected to start going out in late June or early July.
