Apple recently announced that there were more than 4 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus preorders in the first 24 hours of availability last week, so I’m sure that there are a lot of you that’ll be getting a shiny new phone on Friday. I’m also sure that those of you that did preorder are getting pretty antsy while waiting for your phone to arrive. Thankfully, some new hands-on videos have surfaced to help pass the time until Friday rolls around.
Korean website UNDERkg have somehow gotten hold of an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus early and have posted hands-on videos that show off both models. In the iPhone 6 video, we’re given a hardware walkthrough as well as comparisons with the iPhone 5, iPhone 4, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha. Also included is an iOS 8 walkthrough that shows off Apple’s Reachability feature for easier one-handed use as well as the new Health app.
The iPhone 6 Plus clip is similar, giving us previews of both the hardware and software of the iPhablet. Included are looks at Reachability for the home screen, which brings the top of your app grid down for easy access to the top rows, as well as the new landscape mode for the home screen.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will officially go on sale this Friday, September 19, at 8:00 AM local time. If you haven’t already preordered a unit, you’ll either need to do so now and wait weeks for your delivery or hit up a retail store on Friday and hope that you can snag a unit.
If you just want to give iOS 8 a go, Apple will begin pushing the update tomorrow, September 17, to the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPod touch 5th generation, iPad 2, iPad with Retina display, iPad Air, iPad mini and iPad mini with Retina display
