The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will officially hit all major carriers this Friday, September 19. Ten days later, Ting users will get to celebrate an iPhone event of their own.
Ting, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that runs on Sprint’s network, has announced that it’ll add support for Sprint iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c models on September 29. Once that date rolls around, Ting users will be able to activate either device on Ting’s service, so long as they’ve got a Sprint-compatible handset and a Ting nano SIM.
Because of the way that Ting works as a Sprint MVNO, it doesn’t always get access to new devices right after they come out. That’s why the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are arriving on Ting a year after their initial launch. Both the 5s and 5c are still nice smartphones, though, and I’m sure many Ting users will activate one of the iPhone models once September 29 rolls around.
