It’s looking likely that we’ll finally get an official look at the new Moto X on Sept. 4, but the good news for the more impatient among us is that we may have gotten an unofficial peek at the front of the device today.
HelloMotoHK has posted several images of what’s said to be the front panel from the new Moto X, also referred to as the Moto X+1. The photos show the front part laying next to a Moto X for comparison. The front of the new Moto X has long cutouts for what could be a front speaker and earpiece (or two front speakers) as well as a front-facing camera. To compare, the front of the new Moto X is a tad taller than the current X.
A previous leak suggested that the new Moto X/Moto X+1 might pack a 5.2-inch 1080p display, up from the Moto X’s 4.7-inch screen. Taking both the larger display and front speaker(s) into account, it makes sense that the new Moto X would be slightly larger than its predecessor. Thankfully, it’s not too much bigger.
