The look and feel of the app is very BlackBerry 10, complete with the same button layout, sliding panels and even the same alert sound used on BB10.

Users can access their Chats, Contacts and Groups at the bottom of the main BBM for Android screen, while things like Updates and Start Chat are tucked away inside the app's sliding panels. The video demonstrates the app's ability to send contact information over NFC, utilizing the Android Beam feature that debuted in Android 4.0, and we're also shown that sent messages appear to show up on the recipient's device fairly quickly. Finally, we can see that there's a BBM icon present in the Android notification shade when a user is connected to the service.

Overall BBM for Android looks like it's shaping up nicely. Everything seems to be working fairly smoothly in this video demo, and things like the inclusion of the regular BBM alert are a nice touch. BlackBerry has said that it will release BBM for Android and iPhone during the summer, and so if the company plans to stick to that timeframe, we should be able to give the app a go for ourselves sometime in the next few weeks.
