BlackBerry hasn't really made any major announcements regarding BlackBerry 10.1, but yesterday the company rolled out a developer preview version of the new OS so that application creators can see how their software will run on the BlackBerry Q10. Unsurprisingly, devs have been tearing it apart since then, and CrackBerry has compiled a list of all of the changes that've been discovered so far.
Some of the more notable new features that devs have found inside BlackBerry 10.1 include an HDR option for the camera, the ability to turn off alerts for specific apps, an easier method of checking for updates in the BlackBerry World app store, the ability to fully unlock a phone using the power button and support for coupon codes in BlackBerry World. It's also worth noting that, since the 10.1 update that's currently being ripped apart is a developer preview, it's entirely likely that we'll see even more new features into the consumer release of BlackBerry 10.1.
While the goodies that've been dug up so far in the 10.1 preview don't sound particularly earth-shattering, they do seem like they'll add up to make using a BlackBerry 10 device a more enjoyable experience overall. With the BlackBerry Q10 expected to start launching internationally later this month, here's to hoping that some official news on BlackBerry 10.1 and its new features soon.
