Heads up, Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II owners, because you've got an update headed your way. Verizon has revealed on its official Note II software update page that this new software will bump the Note II up to build number JRO03C.I605VRALL4. This update is a small one, coming in at just 7.8MB in size, and the only item included in Verizon's changelog for it is an Android Security Patch that Big Red says will provide "additional security."
While Verizon's changelog for this VRALL4 update is fairly vague, it seems likely that this includes a fix for the Samsung Exynos exploit that was discovered last month. Not only did we already see T-Mobile's Note II get a similar patch earlier this week, but a Droid-Life user that previously rooted his device using the Exynos exploit method reports that he's unable to reroot after updating. Considering all of that, this looks like an update that you Verizon Note II owners will want to grab lickety-split, unless you absolutely need root access and things like that. Users can check for the update by heading into Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
