The PlayStation Phone, which may be known as the XPERIA Play when it finally comes to market, has been spotted in prototype form several times in the past, but a new leak shows that the device is getting closer and closer to being completely finished. As you can see in the photo above, the device now has XPERIA and PlayStation branding near its controls, as well as some improved touch surfaces between the D-pad and the traditional square, circle, triangle, and X buttons. Oh, and we can't forget that the handset in the photographs is also running Android 2.3, aka Gingerbread, which adds to the evidence that we're close to seeing the PlayStation Phone finally made official.
Every leak of the PS Phone that we've seen so far has had kind of a pre-production feel to it, but this new batch of photos certainly looks much more like a finished product. Unfortunately, we still don't know when the thing is actually going to be finished and ship to eager customers. The current rumor pegs the launch date at some time in March, although we could see Sony Ericsson unveil the device as soon as Mobile World Congress in February. Now that we've got a handful of new high-end Android phones like the Nexus S and Thunderbolt out or coming out soon, do you think the PlayStation Phone is still as lustworthy as when it was first revealed?
