The DROID Android 2.2 saga has had its ups and downs, and now we've got another rumor to add to the pile. Our friends over at Droid Life have been told by one of their sources that the official roll out for Froyo on the DROID has been pushed back to August 12th. Sound familiar? We've already got the launches of both the DROID 2 and the BlackBerry Torch on that day, meaning if we tack on the release of Android 2.2 for the DROID, Aug. 12th will be a day jam-packed full of cell phone goodness.
Considering all of the news and rumors we've heard in the past few days concerning the DROID and Android 2.2, ranging from new builds to bugs that were missed during testing, an Aug. 12th roll out doesn't sound out of the question. The FRG22 build of Froyo for the DROID, which has already leaked out and looks like it will be the official Froyo build, needs to go through Verizon's testing before it is released to the public. I just hope Big Red doesn't miss any holes in the software this time around. So, who's gone ahead and cleared their entire schedule for Aug. 12?
