Sony today revealed that it'll upgrade five of its Xperia smartphones to Android 11 and also shared the approximate timing of those updates' releases.
The flagship Xperia 1 II will be the first Sony phone to get Android 11, with the update arriving in December 2020. And Sony says that the update will add slow motion video recording at 4K and 120fps in addition to all of the other new features that come with Android 11.
Other Sony devices that'll be updated to Android 11 include the Xperia 5 II, Xperia 10 II, Xperia 1, and Xperia 5. Here's the full list of planned updates and their release window:
The update to Android 11 brings with it new chat features, like a dedicated conversations section in your notification shade to help you reply to new messages faster and a Bubbles feature that'll let you pin conversations on top of other apps.
Screen recording is built into Android 11, too, and you can now more quickly control smart home devices with a long press of your power button. And new media controls next to your Quick Settings will help you more quickly change the device your media is playing on.
