A recent leak gave us an early look at the design of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, which included four rear cameras. However, now a new report says that Samsung has decided to add a fifth sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to have up to five rear cameras, or at least four cameras and an additional sensor. The render from OnLeaks shows that this fifth sensor is in the upper right corner of the camera bump with the flash slotted between it and another camera.
Today's report explains that this new Galaxy S21 Ultra design is the latest prototype in the DVT, or Design Validation Test, stage. This is the final phase before the phone goes into mass production, suggesting that the camera layout you see in the render above could be the final design.
Details on what features all of those cameras will offer are still mostly up in the air, but a recent leak suggested that one of them will be a 108MP cam. Samsung could also include ultra wide and telephoto cameras and a depth sensor like with last year's Galaxy S20 Ultra.
It's expected that the Samsung Galaxy S21 series will be introduced in January.
