Netflix is raising the prices of some of its rate plans in the US today, around a year and a half after its previous US price hike.
The Standard Netflix plan is now $13.99 per month, which is $1 higher than it used to be. And Meanwhile, the Premium plan is now priced at $17.99 per month, an increase of $2 from the previous price. Netflix's Basic plan is staying at its $8.99 price for now.
The higher prices are now live on the Netflix website, meaning new customers should expect to pay them starting today. Existing Netflix subscribers will likely see the increased price the next time that they're billed.
Streaming services regularly increase their prices and it's been nearly two years since Netflix hiked its prices in the US, so many folks have been expecting that Netflix would increase its pricing again soon. A price hike of $1 or $2 may not sound like much but it does add up, so if you subscribe to a Standard or Premium Netflix plan, be aware that you'll soon start shelling out more every month.
