After launching mobile service running on the Verizon network earlier this year, Yahoo Mobile is now getting its first exclusive smartphone.
The ZTE Blade A3Y features a bright purple color that matches Yahoo's branding and comes preloaded with Yahoo apps, including Yahoo Mail Pro, Yahoo News, Yahoo Sports, and Yahoo Weather. It's priced at $49, but you can get it free if you switch to Yahoo Mobile and trade in your old phone.
When it comes to specs, ZTE and Yahoo Mobile's phone features a 5.45-inch 1440x720 LCD display, 8MP rear and 5MP front cameras, and a 2.0GHz quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor. There's 32GB of storage built in and a microSD card slot that'll let you add up to 2TB of additional storage, and ZTE has also included 2GB of RAM.
Powering the ZTE Blade A3Y is a 2660mAh battery that's user replaceable, a feature we don't see on many new smartphones anymore. There's a rear fingerprint reader, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB-C charging port, too, plus Android 10 and support for VoLTE + HD Voice and Wi-Fi calling.
The Yahoo Mobile service that the ZTE Blade A3Y uses Verizon's 4G LTE network. The rate plan is $39.99 per month and includes unlimited talk, text, and data. You'll get download speeds of 5-12 Mbps and video streaming at 480p resolution. Hotspot usage is included with the plan, too, as is ad-free Yahoo Mail Pro.
