The Samsung Galaxy S21 may not be the only Android flagship launching earlier than expected next year.
OnePlus is reportedly planning to release the OnePlus 9 in March. That's according to Android Central, who say that OnePlus hasn't set a specific launch date for the OnePlus 9 yet but that the company is targeting mid-March for the new flagship's announcement event.
A March launch for the OnePlus 9 would be earlier in the year that other recent OnePlus flagship phones. The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro were introduced in April this year and both the OnePlus 7 series and OnePlus 6 made their debuts in May.
While this March 2021 launch for the OnePlus 9 isn't official yet, it's possible that OnePlus could make that decision to give its flagship more time on the market before the release of its "T" variant. Typically OnePlus launches a new flagship model in the first half of the year followed by a "T" version of that flagship with some small updates, and moving the launch of the new flagship earlier in the year would put more space between the two releases.
