The OnePlus 8T may not be launching until October 14, but that isn't stopping OnePlus from confirming some details of its new phone ahead of time.
OnePlus today dropped some info on the 8T's display. The new OnePlus 8T will feature a 2.5D flexible display with a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and HDR10+ support. OnePlus has also confirmed to TechRadar that the OnePlus 8T's screen will measure in a 6.55 inches.
Offering a smooth display on the 8T was a major focus for OnePlus. The company touts that in addition to those hardware features, it's made 142 optimizations in its new OxygenOS 11 user interface to help give you a smoother and faster experience.
OnePlus also gave DisplayMate an early look at the 8T's screen to get their verdict on it. The screen earned an overall A+ rating from DisplayMate thanks to features like its 100% DCI-P3 color space, which can help provide a richer and more accurate color expression. The OP8T screen also includes a Just Noticeable Color Difference of 0.3 to help ensure that "every detail appears natural and true-to-life."
The regular OnePlus 8 only featured a 90Hz display, so it's good to see OnePlus bump the 8T to a 120Hz refresh rate just like the OnePlus 8 Pro that was released earlier this year. Rumors say that the OnePlus 8T's upgrades could also include a Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, four rear cameras, and a bigger 4500mAh battery, but so far OnePlus hasn't confirmed those details.
