The year 2020 brought with it the first "Ultra" Samsung flagships, and today only you can get a solid discount on one of them.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is on sale today as part of Amazon's Deal of the Day. This model is sold unlocked, meaning you can use it on whatever carrier you're on and take it with you if you switch carriers in the future.
The Ultra is the top-end model of Samsung's Galaxy S20 flagship family. It's packing a 6.9-inch 3200x1440 Dynamic AMOLED screen with in-display fingerprint sensor and 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 865 processor, 12GB of RAM, and a 5000mAh battery. And if the included 128GB of storage isn't enough for you, the microSD slot will let you add more storage.
Of course, the highlight feature of the Galaxy S20 Ultra is its rear camera array. There are four cams back there, including a 108MP main camera with phase detection autofocus, a 12MP ultra-wide cam with 120-degree field of view, a 4MP telephoto cam with 10x hybrid optic zoom and up to 100x Space Zoom, and a depth camera to help you get portrait mode shots.
While the Galaxy S20 Ultra had some camera focusing issues when it first launched earlier this year, Samsung has since updated it to fix those camera problems. The S20 Ultra has also been updated to One UI 2.5 to give it several features that launched on the Note 20 Ultra.
This discounted Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra may not be cheap, but it is a pretty good deal on high-end flagship phone especially if you don't care about the S Pen of the Note phones. And Samsung recently committed to three generations of Android OS updates for many of its Galaxy devices, which means the S20 Ultra owners have three big updates with new features to look forward to.
