Prepaid operator Cricket Wireless is launching a new low-cost Android phone today.
The Alcatel Apprise is now available from Cricket for $69.99. Alcatel has loaded up the Apprise with Android 10 (Go edition), which is a lightweight version of Android meant for entry-level phones that has faster app launch times and uses less of your built-in storage.
When it comes to specs, the Alcatel Apprise is packing a 5.5-inch 960x480 LCD screen, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a microSD slot that'll let you add up to 128GB of additional storage. There's a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6739WW processor in there, too, plus a 3000mAh battery with a Battery Saver Mode for those times when you won't be near a charger for a while.
Other features of the Apprise include 5MP front and rear cameras, face unlock support, and a dedicated Google Assistant button so you can get your questions answered and requests fulfilled faster. There's a 3.5mm headphone jack, something we don't see on every phone nowadays, and HD Voice and Wi-Fi Calling are supported so that your phone calls are clear.
