Netflix has produced a lot of quality original content over the years, and starting today it's making some of those shows available to watch for free.

You can now watch several of Netflix's original movies and TV shows for free, without even signing up for an account. Just point the browser on your computer or Android phone to netflix.com/watch-free. iOS devices are not supported (via Variety).

Some of the movies available include "Bird Box", "Murder Mystery", and "The Two Popes". You can also watch the pilot episode for shows like "Stranger Things", "Love Is Blind", and "When They See Us". Netflix says that its selection of free shows may change from time to time.

As for why Netflix is offering up some of its original content totally free, the company told Gadgets360, "We're looking at different marketing promotions to attract new members and give them a great Netflix experience."

Netflix is one of the most popular streaming services around, but there are still plenty of people who have either never signed up or used to be a member but canceled. This free streaming promotion will help give all those people a taste of some of Netflix's most popular shows and potentially help convince them to sign up for the full service.
