iOS 14 may be coming soon, but Apple isn't done with iOS 13 quite yet.

Apple today released the first iOS 13.7 beta update (via MacRumors). It's available to registered developers, who can grab it over the air by going into Settings > General > Software Update on their iOS device or by pointing their computer's web browser at the Apple Developer Center.

The big new feature of iOS 13.7 is the ability to op-in to the Exposure Notification system for COVID-19 without the need to download an app that supports that feature. You'll still need an app from your local public health authority to actually use Exposure Notifications, but this update does make it easier to find out if there is such an app available in your area.

Also released today is an iPadOS 13.7 beta that includes unspecified bug fixes and performance improvements.

Apple hasn't said when it'll release iOS 13.7 to the public. Because the update doesn't appear to include any huge changes, and because iOS 14 is likely just a couple of months away from launching, we'll probably see iOS 13.7 released sooner rather than later.
