We're still waiting for Google to announce its rumored Android TV dongle, codenamed "Sabrina", and now the device is one step closer to launch.
Google's "Sabrina" dongle appears to have gotten FCC certification. A new device made by Google and described as an "interactive media streaming device" has popped up in the FCC's database. Below you can see its FCC label, which would likely be on the dongle's backside.
The listing also reveals that the dongle carries the model number GZRNL and that it includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.
A second Google device has also been spotted in the FCC database. This one is described as a "wireless device" with the model number G9N9N. Its FCC label is located "under the power cover", suggesting that this could be the remote that's rumored to be coming with Google's new Android TV dongle.
Leaks have shown that the "Sabrina" dongle will be shaped like an oval and that it'll have an HDMI cable sticking out from its top. The device is also expected to come with a remote with a round trackpad for navigating the Android TV interface, a dedicated Google Assistant button, and a few other control buttons.
Little else is known about the "Sabrina" device right now, but past rumors have suggested that Google could launch it this summer at a price of around $80. If that's still the case, we could get an official announcement in the next month or so.
