After teasing yesterday that it was "time to rock the boat again", OnePlus today revealed a bit more about what it was referring to.
OnePlus is launching a "new, more affordable smartphone product line" that will offer a "premium, flagship experience," CEO Pete Lau said today.
"Never Settle has always been at the core of OnePlus. For more than 6 years, that has meant working hard to always deliver the best experience for flagship smartphone users," Lau explained. "However, as we’ve grown together with our community, we know that there are many people who want a really solid smartphone that meets their everyday needs, and for a more accessible price."
The OnePlus CEO didn't go into any other details about the upcoming device, but he did say that it will "start relatively small" with launches in Europe and India. OnePlus is planning to bring more affordable smartphones to North America in the near future.
Meanwhile, OnePlus has started a new Instagram account to tease its new affordable device further. A new post on the account includes Morse code that translates to July, suggesting that this new affordable smartphone will be revealed next month.
As we suspected yesterday, it's likely that Lau is referring to the lower-cost device known as either the OnePlus Z or OnePlus Nord here. Rumors have said this device could include specs like a 6.55-inch display with 90Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 765 processor, and triple rear cameras.
