If you've got a OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro and like trying out new software before it's available to the general public, OnePlus has a new program for you.
OnePlus today rolled out its Closed Beta Program for the OnePlus 8 series phones. OnePlus typically runs 3 versions of its software builds at once — Closed Beta, Open Beta, and MP (official) build — and the Closed Beta testers are the closest to OnePlus staff, providing feedback on software builds and helping to find and fix bugs.
Members of the Closed Beta Group must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement because they may get builds of software weeks or months before they're released to the public.
There will be 250 people accepted into the Closed Beta Program for the OnePlus 8 series. To be eligible, you'll need an unlocked and non-carrier version of the OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro and be an active member of the OnePlus Community forums. You'll also need to be willing to constantly give feedback on to the OnePlus team on Slack.
If you think you meet these requirements, you can apply to join the program here.
It can be fun to test beta software and know that you're getting to see and try new features well before most everyone else. With this Closed Beta Program, you'll need to seriously use the software and provide feedback to OnePlus, but it could be very rewarding for OnePlus fans knowing that they're helping to shape and improve software before it's released to the public.
