Motorola's lineup of affordable Android phones is growing today with two more entries, the Moto G Fast and Moto E.
First up is the Moto G Fast, which looks similar to the Moto G Power that launched a couple of months ago but makes some spec changes to help get its price down. For example, both phones have a 6.4-inch screen but the G Fast has a resolution of 1560x720, down from the 1080p panel on the G Power.
Motorola has also dropped the RAM and storage on the Moto G Fast a bit, giving it 3GB and 32GB, respectively, down from 4GB and 64GB on the Moto G Power. The Moto G Fast does include a microSD card slot in case you'd like more storage beyond what's included, though.
The Moto G Fast's triple rear camera array is the same as the Moto G Power, meaning it's packing a 16MP main cam with f/1.7 aperture, a 2MP macro camera for close-up photos, and an 8MP ultra wide cam with 118-degree field of view. The front camera on the Moto G Fast is an 8MP snapper that lives in a hole-punch in the upper left corner of the display.
The Moto G Fast also has the same Snapdragon 665 processor as its Moto G Power sibling. There's a 4000mAh battery powering the Moto G Fast, a fingerprint reader is located on the backside of the phone, and there's a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top. Its case features a water repellent design, too, and it's running Android 10 out of the box.
Motorola says that the Moto G Fast will be available in the US for $199.99, $50 less than the Moto G Power. Pre-orders for the Moto G Fast will begin on June 5 and it'll be available unlocked on June 12 at Best Buy, B&H Photo, Walmart, Amazon, and Motorola, with a launch also planned for Boost Mobile.
In Canada, the Moto G Fast will be available later this summer from Telus, Bell, Rogers, Fido, Koodo, and Virgin.
The Moto E costs even less, carrying a price tag of $149.99. For that you get a phone with a 6.2-inch 1520x720 display that has a waterdrop notch where the 5MP selfie cam is located. Around back there's a fingerprint reader plus a dual rear camera setup with a 13MP main cam and a 2MP depth camera to help you get those portrait mode photos.
Inside the Moto E's water repellent case there's an octa-core Snadpragon 632 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and there's 32GB of built-in storage as well, plus a microSD card slot in case you need more storage. Motorola has put a 3550mAh battery inside the Moto E's water repellent shell and also given it Android 10 out of the box. There's a 3.5mm headphone jack included, too.
Expect to see the Moto E to be available for pre-order on June 5 ahead of a June 12 launch. It'll be available universally unlocked in the US from Best Buy, B&H Photo, Walmart, Amazon, and Motorola, with launches also planned at T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Boost Mobile, US Cellular, Consumer Cellular, Xfinity Mobile, Republic Wireless, and Verizon prepaid.
The Moto E will be making its way to Canada, too, launching this summer at Telus, Bell, Rogers, Virgin, Lucky Mobile, Fido, chatr, SaskTel, Videotron, and Freedom Mobile.
