Spotify is starting to roll out a new feature today that'll come in handy for your next party.
Group Sessions is a feature that'll make it easy for you and your friends to build a playlist while you're hanging out. The host will have a scannable code that they can share with people near them, and then the host and guests can add tracks to the queue as well as play, pause, and skip songs.
As changes to the queue are made, they'll be reflected on everyone's devices. There's currently no limit to how many people can participate in a session.
The feature is rolling out in beta and is available to Spotify Premium subscribers. Spotify tells The Verge that it plans to "continue to evolve the experience over time based on user feedback."
When you're hanging out with a group of friends, it can be a pain to add music that everyone wants to listen to. Either you have to have everyone shout song names at the host who will then add them to the queue or the host has to give up their phone to the guests. With this Group Sessions feature, it'll be easier for you and your friends to build a collaborative playlist to keep the party going.
