OnePlus took the wraps off of two new phones earlier this month, but the oft-rumored OnePlus Z was nowhere to be found. Today a new report has emerged that says the Z could still be a couple months away.
The OnePlus Z might be announced in July 2020. That timing was shared today by leaker Max J., who posted an image to twitter with the silhouette of a phone with a flat screen, hole-punch, and "Z" letter along with the words "July 2020".

Rumors say that the OnePlus Z will be a sort of follow-up to 2015's OnePlus X. That suggests it could be a more affordable alternative to the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, which start at $699 and $899, respectively.
Past reports have suggested that the OnePlus Z could cost around £400 GBP ($497 USD) and that its specs might include a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint sensor, MediaTek Dimensity 1000 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Also rumored is a triple rear camera setup with 48MP, 16MP, and 12MP sensors.
While a $500 phone isn't exactly cheap, it is more affordable than the flagship OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro and the specs suggest it could be a solid option for folks who don't want to spend nearly $1,000 on a new phone. If the OnePlus Z is set to debut in July, we'll likely hear more about it as we get closer to that window, so stay tuned.
