A few months after starting to test a new feature that allows you to view your direct messages on the web, Instagram today confirmed that the feature is officially rolling out to everyone.
You can now send and view Instagram DMs on the web. Just point your desktop or laptop's web browser to the Instagram site and click on the arrow-shaped icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
In addition to sending a text message, Instagram DMs on the web will let you send emojis and attach images saved on your computer.
Being able to access your DMs on the web is a great addition to the Instagram site. Not only is it convenient, letting you send and view your messages without having to turn away from your computer and look at your phone, but lots of folks can type more quickly on an actual keyboard than on a smartphone screen.
