It was just last week that we were talking about the four-year-old Galaxy S7 getting a new software update, but it looks like that was the last one it'll ever get.
Samsung has pulled the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge from its list of Android phones that receive security updates (via Droid-Life). Both phones were receiving quarterly security updates from Samsung.
Interestingly, the Galaxy S7 Active is still on Samsung's quarterly security update list. Since it launched only a few months after the Galaxy S7, though, it may not be on that list much longer.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are both starting to get a bit long in the tooth, and so it's not a huge surprise to see Samsung pulling security updates for them. Getting four years of updates is pretty solid, though, and we're glad that Samsung pushed one more update to the S7 and S7 edge last week before pulling the plug on their software support.
