Dogs, cats, and other pets are important members of a family, and this week T-Mobile has launched a new accessory to help you ensure that your pet is safe.
The SyncUp Pets is a tracker that you can attach to a pet's collar to keep tabs on their location (via TmoNews). Using T-Mobile's Narrowband IoT network, the SyncUp Pets can show you your pet's last known location on a map and give you walking or driving directions to them. The tracker also allows you to set up "safe zones" and get alerts when the tracker enters or leaves a zone.
In addition to tracking, the SyncUp Pets will let you view your pet's activity and break down the info by day, week, or month.
There's also a light that you can turn on at night to help make your pet more visible. And because it's going to be attached to a pet's collar, the SyncUp Pets has been made tough with IP67 water and dust resistance.
The tracker has a 430mAh battery that'll last up to 5 days on a single charge. It measures 1.88 inches by 1.88 inches and weighs 1.9 ounces.
T-Mobile isn't currently selling the SyncUp Pets online, but it is available in select retail stores. You can also buy one by calling customer support at 1-800-T-MOBILE.
Pricing for the SyncUp Pets is set at $4.00 per month for 24 months or $96.00 full retail. You'll need to be an active T-Mobile customer with at least one voice line to use the SyncUp Pets, and the device's plan costs $10 per month with a $5 autopay discount or $15 without autopay.
T-Mobile launched a SyncUp Drive device a few years ago that lets you track a car's location in addition to getting diagnostics and turning T-Mo 4G LTE into Wi-Fi. Now it's using a similar tracking device to help you keep tabs on your pets and make it easier to find your pet if they go missing.
