We may be nearing the end of the week, but Motorola isn't coasting into the weekend, because the company today took the wraps off of two new Moto G series devices.
The Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power are now official. As its name suggests, the Moto G Stylus comes with a pen that you pull out from the bottom of the phone's body, letting you more easily edit photos, take notes, sketch, and more. Motorola has even made a new Moto Notes app that'll launch when you take the stylus out, even if the phone isn't unlocked.
Camera performance is another focus of the Moto G Stylus. It's got a triple rear camera system with a 48MP main sensor that has an f/1.7 aperture and Quad Pixel technology that combines four pixels into one, getting you a 12MP image that's sharper and brighter. The 16MP ultra-wide angle action cam has a 117-degree field of view and lets you take landscape videos while in portrait mode, and a 2MP macro camera will help you get better close-up shots.
The Moto G Stylus features a 6.4-inch FHD+ display with a hole-punch where its 16MP selfie cam lives, and there are dual stereo speakers for a better entertainment experience. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included, too, which is something you don't see on every phone nowadays.
Inside there's an octa-core Snapdragon 665 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot. A 4000mAh battery is powering the Moto G Stylus, and you'll recharge that battery over USB-C at up to 10W speeds. A fingerprint reader is included as well.
On the software side, the Moto G Stylus comes equipped with Android 10 and a "clean, bloatware-free software experience." Motorola is also touting a new Moto Gametime app that's included with the Moto G Stylus and will block interruptions while you're gaming.
Motorola says that the Moto G Stylus will be available unlocked this spring in the U.S. for $299.99. It'll also be available from Verizon, Metro by T-Mobile, and Republic Wireless in the U.S., as well as Videotron in Canada.
And then there's the Moto G Power. This one's all about battery life, packing a 5000mAh battery that Motorola says will last you up to three days on a single charge.
The Moto G Power has a triple rear camera setup of its own that includes a 16MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture and phase detection autofocus, an 8MP ultra wide angle lens with 118-degree field of view, and a 2MP macro cam. The front camera is a 16MP sensor with Quad Pixel tech.
Like its Moto G Stylus sibling, the Moto G Power is equipped with a 6.4-inch FHD+ screen, dual stereo speakers, and a fingerprint reader. There's an octa-core Snapdragon 665 processor in there, too, as well as 4GB of RAM. 64GB of storage is bult-in, and a microSD card slot will let you add up to 512GB of additional storage if you need it.
Motorola plans to launch the Moto G Power unlocked in the U.S. this spring for $249.99. It'll also be available on Verizon, U.S. Cellular, Consumer Cellular, Republic Wireless, and Xfinity Mobile. Folks in Canada can expect it on Videotron and Freedom Mobile this spring.
