Google has launched several messaging apps over the years, and according to a new report, it's about to roll out another.

Google is said to be working on a new messaging app for businesses that'll combine several of its existing apps into one. A report from The Information says that the app will combine Gmail and Google Drive as well as Hangouts Meet and Hangouts Chat for video and text chat, respectively.

This new messaging app is reportedly being led by the Google Cloud team and is said to be currently in testing at Google. There's no word yet on what it might be called, but it'll allegedly be part of Google's G Suite online productivity tools.

With all of the messaging apps that Google has launched to date, it's clear that the company wants to be the way that you communicate with others. It's got its Messages app for Android for regular consumers, and with this upcoming app, it sounds like Google wants a slice of the business pie that apps like Slack and Microsoft Teams are currently getting.

Because of Google's size, it could get some interest from business users with its upcoming app. It can be difficult to switch a business from one messaging app that they're used to to an entirely new service, though, so Google could also face some difficulties with its next messaging app.
