After teasing a new 5G tablet at the start of the month, Samsung says that the Galaxy Tab S6 5G is now ready for launch.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy Tab S6 5G in Korea tomorrow, January 30th. While this is a 5G-enabled version of the Galaxy Tab S6 that was released in July 2019, the launch of this new model is notable because it's the world's first 5G tablet.
The Galaxy Tab S6 5G is largely similar to the non-5G model both in terms of design and specs. It's got a 10.5-inch display, quad speakers, Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of built-in storage.
Just like the regular Tab S6, this model also comes with an S Pen stylus that can magnetically attach to the back of the tablet and wirelessly charge there.
When it goes on sale in Korea, the Galaxy Tab S6 5G will cost 999,990 won (around $848 USD). There's no word yet on when or if the tablet will launch in other parts of the globe.
It was only a matter of time before someone launched a 5G tablet, and the Galaxy Tab S6 5G won't be the only 5G-enabled slate that's released in 2020. Still, it's exciting to see 5G tablets become a thing, especially for those that rely on a tablet to get work done on the go.
