There's some bad news for anyone hoping to treat themselves to a Motorola Razr foldable for the holidays.
Motorola today revealed that the Razr foldable has been delayed. The company explains that demand for the Razr has been high and has "quickly outgrown supply predictions." As a result, Moto is adjusting the pre-order and launch timing for the Razr to help it meet demand.
No new launch date has been given, but Motorola says that it doesn't expect a "significant shift" from its original timing. The Motorola Razr was originally slated to be available for pre-order starting December 26th followed by a launch on January 9th.

"Since its announcement in November, the new Motorola razr has received unparalleled excitement and interest from consumers. Demand has been high, and as a result, has quickly outgrown supply predictions.
"Motorola has decided to adjust razr’s presale and launch timing to better meet consumer demand. We are working to determine the appropriate quantity and schedule to ensure that more consumers have access to razr at launch.
"We do not anticipate a significant shift from our original availability timeline."
The Motorola Razr is a revival of the company's popular Razr flip phone. It's got a similar design as the old-school Razr, but instead of a physical keypad, it's got a 6.2-inch foldable OLED screen inside. That design is different from the other foldable phones that've launched recently and are more like a tablet when unfolded. The old-school Razr design combined with the new foldable form factor have a lot of folks interested in the $1,500 Razr, but for now it looks like those people will just have to be patient and wait for a new launch date.
