We already know that Samsung is working on a new pair of Galaxy Buds truly wireless earbuds, but there haven't been many details available about how they'll improve on the model that we've currently got. Now we've a bit more info on those improvements.
Samsung's next Galaxy Buds could have bigger batteries than the current version. FCC filings for the unannounced earbuds (via Droid-Life) suggest that the earbuds will come in at 300mA while the charging case will be 600mA. That rating for the earbuds could be combined for both 'buds, meaning each one could have a battery size of 150mA.
To compare, the current Galaxy Buds show a capacity of 100mA for the earbuds and 400mA for the case.
Also of note is that the model number for the new Galaxy Buds is SM-R175, up from the current Galaxy Buds model number of SM-R170.
Increased battery life is an upgrade that would make sense for Samsung's next pair of Galaxy Buds. That said, the FCC filing for the existing Galaxy Buds listed them as having a larger battery than they actually do, so we'll have to wait for Samsung's announcement of its new Galaxy Buds before we know for sure how big their batteries are.
Now that the next Galaxy Buds have passed through the FCC, they're one step closer to launch. There's no word yet on when Samsung might officially introduce them, but this year's Galaxy Buds debuted in late February, and so we could still be a couple of months out from the announcement of these new Galaxy Buds.
