Recent renders of the Galaxy S11 suggested that Samsung is going to be placing a major focus on camera performance with its next flagship, and now we're learning more about what features Samsung is planning.
The Samsung Galaxy S11 will reportedly include a 108MP rear camera for its main sensor. Sources speaking to Bloomberg add that the S11 will also include an ultra-wide camera, a telephoto cam with 5x optical zoom, and a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to help capture depth information for bokeh images and for augmented reality.
Today's report goes on to claim that Samsung will also use that 108MP camera and 5x optical zoom sensor in its next Galaxy Fold, which is expected to have a clamshell form factor. That device is said to coming around the same time of the Galaxy S11's February announcement.
Renders that reportedly show the Galaxy S11 design suggest that the phone will have a large, rectangular camera bump on its backside. Now we're learning why Samsung may be using such a large camera bump, with the company apparently moving to a 108MP main camera from the 12MP camera found on the Galaxy S10. The telephoto cam will be an improvement, too, showing that Samsung is going big with the camera upgrades for its next major phone.
