Just a couple of weeks after Sony confirmed its Android 10 update plans, its first updates have begun rolling out.
The Sony Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 are now receiving their Android 10 updates. Owners of both phones are reporting on Reddit (via PiunikaWeb) that Android 10 has arrived on their phone over the air, with both phones getting bumped up to software version 55.1.A.0.748.
Xperia 1 owners say that their update is around 725MB, and so it's likely that the Xperia 5's update is around the same size. So if you've got one of these two Xperia phones, be ready for a large download.
As for what's included in the update, Android 10 brings with it several new features like gesture navigation and dark mode. This update also includes the November 2019 Android security patches.
Sony said that it planned to update the Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 to Android 10 in December, so these updates aren't exactly a huge surprise. Still, it's great to see them rolling out on December 5th rather than December 25th. If you've got an Xperia 1 or Xperia 5, let us know when Android 10 hits your phone!
