Google's Recorder app is one of the coolest new features of the Pixel 4, letting you easily record audio and even get automatic transcriptions for whatever you're recording. Now the app is expanding to more phones.
Google has updated its Recorder app to version 1.1, and part of that update is expanding availability of the app to the Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 2 (via Android Police). If you've got one of those models, you should be able to download the Recorder app from the Play Store and begin using it now.
A recorder app may seem kind of basic, but Google's app looks good and works pretty well, too. That's why it's great to see it expanding to more devices. Unfortunately, it's unclear when or if it'll become available to other devices, like the original Pixel and non-Pixel phones. It's certainly possible now that Google has made Recorder available to the Pixel 3, 3a, and 2, but for now we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Have you tried Google's Recorder app?
