We're already expecting new Pixel 4 phones and perhaps a new Nest Mini speaker at next month's Google event, and now it looks like we can add a new Pixelbook to that list, too.

Google is reportedly prepping a new laptop called the Pixelbook Go that'll debut at its October 15 event. Sources speaking to 9to5Google describe what sounds like a pretty traditional laptop design with no foldable 2-in-1 form factor and no Pixelbook Pen stylus support. The device is said to have a "subdued design" with a "tactile feel" on the bottom and a "magnesium alloy" body that makes it as light or lighter than the Pixelbook, which weighs 1.1 kg (2.4 lbs).

When it comes to specs, the Pixelbook Go is allegedly equipped with a 13.3-inch display with 16:9 aspect ratio and a Full HD or 4K resolution, depending on which configuration you choose. Spec options will include Intel Core m3, i5, and i7 processors, 8GB and 16GB of RAM, and 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB of built-in storage. A 2MP front camera will let you video chat, and there's also said to be a Titan C chip, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth like last year's Pixel Slate.

The Pixelbook Go has two front-firing speakers that are said to be significantly more powerful than the Pixelbook's, and there's a single USB-C port on either side of the body as well as a single 3.5mm headphone jack. Google is expected to offer the Pixelbook Go in two colors: a "Just Black" and a "Not Pink".

Google has sold a few Chrome OS laptops in the past, but last year it changed things up and launched the Pixel Slate tablet with optional keyboard accessory. The Pixel Slate wasn't really well-received, though, and so that may have pushed Google to return to a more traditional laptop form factor. With no 2-in-1 design or Pixelbook Pen, the Pixelbook Go may not be the most exciting piece of hardware to ever come out of Google, but that may be just fine for folks who just want a solid Chrome OS laptop.
