It's been a few days since we had a Pixel 4 leak, which is a pretty long time considering how frequently Google's new phone has been leaking lately. That drought is now coming to an end, though.
Several new hands-on photos that show the white Pixel 4 XL have come out. The images from Nextrift give us a clear look at Google's new flagship and show off several of its features. Face Unlock is described as being similar to Apple's Face ID, including the setup that requires you to move your head in a circle, and there are settings like skipping the lock screen to go straight to your last used screen and requiring your eyes be open for Face Unlock to work.
The back of the Pixel 4 XL has a light matte finish that's described as feeling like regular glass but being more resistant to fingerprints. Around front, the 6.23-inch 3040x1440 AMOLED screen is said to be "really quite good". Inside the phone is a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 3700mAh battery.
And then there are the cameras. There's a 12.2MP main snapper around back, and rumors have said that the second camera is a 16MP telephoto lens. Today's report includes some sample photos and some Galaxy S10+ images to compare them to, and while the user says that the Pixel 4 XL's photos "may not appeal to everyone", they add that the Pixel 4 XL has "better detail preservation" and color reproduction that's "more true to life".
Of course, the Pixel 4 XL is still pre-release and may not be running final camera software, so we'll have to wait until the device launches next month before making any final judgments about its camera performance.
Finally, today's report says that the Soli sensors on this Pixel 4 XL weren't enabled, so the Motion Gestures couldn't be tested.
Google is hosting an event on October 15 to unveil the Pixel 4 phones and possibly more. While it seems like just about everything that could leak about the Pixel 4 phones has, including the names of the three color options, we're betting that Google still has a surprise or two up its sleeve.
